Sergio Cortés
Sergio Cortés Godoy (born 11 January 1968) is a former professional tennis player from Chile. Career Cortés was a leading junior player in South American, winning the continental championships in the 14s, 16s and 18s age groups. He was a quarter-finalist in the 1989 Geneva Open. Cortés competed in just one Grand Slam event, the 1993 US Open, where he reached the third round. He defeated American Derrick Rostagno and Dutchman Jacco Eltingh, both in four sets and was then eliminated in straight sets by Boris Becker. In 1993 he had one of the best wins of his career beat when he beat world number 31 Magnus Larsson at the Lipton Championships in Florida Cortés made the quarter-finals of a Bogotá ATP tournament, along the way defeating Andrei Chesnokov, then the world number 40. Andrei Eduardovich Chesnokov (russian: Андрей Эдуардович Чесноков, links=no; born 2 February 1966) is a former professional tennis player from Russia. Career Chesnokov's highest singles ranking was World No. 9 in 1991. The biggest tournament victories of his career came at the Monte Carlo Open in 1990, and at the Canadian Open in 1991 (both Tennis Masters Series events). Chesnokov's best performance at a Grand Slam event came at the French Open in 1989, where he reached the semi-finals by eliminating Pablo Arraya, Jonas Svensson, Carl-Uwe Steeb, Jim Courier and the defending champion Mats Wilander in straight sets in the quarterfinals. Emanuel Couto (born 6 August 1973), is a former professional tennis player from Portugal. He achieved a career-high doubles ranking of World No. 91 in 1997. Martin Blackman (born March 5, 1970) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. He later represented Barbados. Early life Blackman was born in New York City, before moving to Barbados when he was 2 years old. He spent much of his childhood in Barbados, where his father Courtney Blackman served as Governor of the Central Bank and he attended the Harrison College School. For two summers, Blackman's family lived on the Upper West Side in New York and he trained at the Port Washington Tennis Academy. In 1983 he returned to the United States and attended the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy on a tennis scholarship. In 1997 he reached the semifinals of the French Open, his best singles result ever and the first Belgian tennis player (male or female) to reach the semi-final at a Grand Slam tournament. The Geneva Open Challenger, also known as IPP Trophy was a tennis tournament held in Geneva, Switzerland from 1988 to 2014. The event is part of the ATP Challenger Tour.
