To Diko Sou Asteri
Greece and Ellinikí Radiofonía Tileórasi (ERT) chose to host a national selection with the winner being chosen an "expert" jury. Mariana Efstratiou was chosen with "To diko sou asteri" and placed 9th at Eurovision. Before Eurovision National final The national final took place on 31 March 1989 at the ERT TV Studios in Athens and was hosted by Dafni Bokota. The songs were presented as video clips and the winning song was chosen by a panel of "experts". It was later revealed that Mando was supposed to win the national selection; she was second, only one point behind Marianna. Mando took action against the Greek television station ERT because one of the jury members didn't vote. She won the ruling, but since the process was too late to reverse the decision, Marianna went to Eurovision. Maria-Anastasia (Mariana) Efstratiou ( el, Μαριάνα Ευστρατίου) (born 17 April 1955 in Athens) is a Greek singer, connected on several occasions with the Eurovision Song Contest. In 1987 she appeared as a backing singer for the duo Bang. Efstratiou won the Greek national song contest in 1989, overcoming Greek superstar Anna Vissi, and represented Greece in Lausanne with '' To Diko Sou Asteri''. The song was placed ninth. In 1996, ERT selected her to represent Greece again, this time with the song '' Emis forame to himona anixiatika'', but the song could only manage 14th place in Oslo. Efstratiou sang three songs in the semi-finals of the Greek national contest in 1998, but none of them qualified for the final. Dafni Bokota ( el, Δάφνη Μπόκοτα; born 1960) is a Greek singer, presenter and former spokesperson for the Greek national broadcaster Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT). Biography Dafni Bokota was born in Koukaki, Athens, Greece in 1960. She studied English and French literature and while working in ERT and released an LP with her own compositions. The title of the record was ''Dafni Bokota kai Saboter'' and the singles "Diva" and "Viper Nora" were hits. She had tried to represent Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1983 with her song "Juliet". Anna Vissi ( el, Άννα Βίσση, , ; born 20 December 1957), is a Greek Cypriot singer and songwriter. She studied music at conservatories and performed locally before moving to the professional scene in Athens, in 1973, where she signed with Minos and simultaneously collaborated with other musical artists and released promotional singles of her own while studying at the University of Athens. Furbaz are a Switzerland, Swiss vocal group consisting of members Marie Louise Werth, Giusep Quinter, Ursin Defuns and Gion Defuns, who perform mainly in the Romansh language.
