Tião Macalé (comedian)
Augusto Temístocles da Silva Costa (February 10, 1926 – October 26, 1993) known artistically as Tião Macalé, was a Brazilian comedian. He was born in Rio de Janeiro. He is known in Brazil for his role of supporting character in the Brazilian comedic series ''Os Trapalhões'' in the 1980s and early 1990s, and famous for his catchphrase ''Nojento!'' (Disgusting!) in the series and TV commercials. He suffered from lung diseases and died in São José do Rio Preto in 1993. Os Trapalhões () was a Brazilian comedy group and a television series of the same name created by Wilton Franco. Its members were Dedé (Dedé Santana), Zacarias ( Zacarias Gonçalves), Mussum ( Carlinhos Mussum) and their leader Didi Mocó (Renato Aragão). The name ''Os Trapalhões'' (which can be translated as ''The Bumbling Ones'') is derived from the Portuguese verb ''atrapalhar'', which means the opposite of ''helping'', ''to do something the wrong way'' or ''to Those that confuse''. The name is translated "Tramps" in English DVD subtitles. It was originally aired by Rede Globo from 1977 to 1995. Manfried Sant'Anna ( São Gonçalo, April 29, 1936), known artistically as Dedé Santana (), is a Brazilian comedian, best known for his role in the television series ''Os Trapalhões'', where he was one of the four protagonists. Short bio Dedé was raised among circus performers in a Roma family. He and his brother Dino Santana (deceased in 2010) acted in television as a comedic couple named ''Maloca e Bonitão'' in 1965. Later, Dedé joined the comedian Renato Aragão and created another comedian duo that later with the addition of Mussum and Zacarias, would become the famous Brazilian quartet Os Trapalhões, which with its TV series (aired by Rede Globo) and movies, gained national fame in the 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s. Zacarias (Os Trapalhões)
Mauro Faccio Gonçalves (January 18, 1934 — March 18, 1990), known artistically as Zacarias Gonçalves or simply Zacarias (), was a Brazilian actor, notable for being a member of the comedic group Os Trapalhões. He was born in Sete Lagoas. Cause of death In December 1989, Zacarias started taking weight loss medicines without medical supervision. He quickly lost at least 19 kg (42 lbs), but this affected his health, and he succumbed to a lung infection. At the time, the sudden weight loss led to widespread rumors (including a headline in tabloid '' Notícias Populares'') that he had died of AIDS.
