Tipperary Senior Hurling Team Season 2020
The 2020 season was Liam Sheedy's second year in charge since returning as manager of the Tipperary senior hurling team, having been previously in charge from 2008 to 2010. The team were sponsored by world leading CEO advisory firm Teneo for the second year in a deal worth up to €180,000 a year on a rolling 12-month contract. Tipperary are the defending All-Ireland champions and were attempting to retain the title for the first time since 1965. On 13 December 2019, Eoin Kelly was added as a selector on the team having been a free-taking coach in 2019. Also former manager Eamon O'Shea took up a role as Performance Director having been part of the backroom team in 2019. The team traveled to Mexico and New York in January for their team holiday, returning on 15 January. Tipperary County Hurling Team
The Tipperary county hurling team represents Tipperary in hurling and is governed by Tipperary GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Munster Senior Hurling Championship and the National Hurling League. Tipperary's home ground is Semple Stadium, Thurles. The team's manager is Liam Cahill. The team last won the Munster Senior Championship in 2016, the All-Ireland Senior Championship in 2019 and the National League in 2008. Portroe GAA
Portroe GAA is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. Both hurling and Gaelic football are played in the "North-Tipperary" divisional competitions. The club is centred on the village of Portroe which is eight miles outside Nenagh. 2020 Munster Senior Hurling League
The 2020 Munster Senior Hurling League was the fifth staging of the Munster Senior Hurling League since its establishment by the Munster Council in 2016. The league began on 15 December 2019 and ended on 11 January 2020. Clare were the defending champions, however, they failed to make it out of the group stage. On 11 January 2020, Limerick won the Munster League after a 1-32 to 0-20 defeat of Cork in the final at the LIT Gaelic Grounds. This was their second league title overall and their first title since 2018. Competition format The six teams are drawn into two groups of three teams. Each team plays the other teams in their group once, earning 2 points for a win and 1 for a draw. The two group winners advance to the final. If the final is a draw, a penalty shoot-out is used to decide the winner; there is no extra time played. Brian McGrath (hurler)
Brian McGrath (born 1998) is an Irish hurler who plays for Tipperary Senior Championship club Loughmore–Castleiney and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team. Dillon Quirke
Dillon Quirke (28 February 1998 – 5 August 2022) was an Irish hurler who played for Tipperary Senior Championship club Clonoulty–Rossmore and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team. Early life Born and raised in Rossmore, County Tipperary, Quirke's father, Dan Quirke, won an All-Ireland medal at under-21 level in All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship. Kildangan GAA (Tipperary)
Kiladangan GAA is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. Hurling is the main sport which is played in the "North Tipperary" divisional competitions. The club is centred on the village of Puckane but includes the areas of Ballycommon, Monsea and Dromineer near Nenagh. Kiladangan was formerly known as Kildangan GAA, however in January 2016 the club reverted to its former name of Kiladangan GAA. At the present time both club names are used interchangeably.
