Timothy Berrett (born January 23, 1965 in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, United Kingdom) is a male race walking, race walker. He came to Canada in 1987. A resident of Edmonton, Alberta, he represented Canada in five consecutive Summer Olympics starting in Athletics at the 1992 Summer Olympics, 1992 (Barcelona, Spain). He competed in the 2008 2008 Summer Olympics, Beijing Olympics at the 50 km walk event, finishing in 38th place with a time of 4:08:08. He was born in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, United Kingdom. Berrett completed his Doctor of Philosophy, Ph.D. degree at the University of Alberta, having completed master's degrees in economics and public administration at Queen's University at Kingston, Queen's University and his undergraduate studies at the Brasenose College, Oxford. Royal Tunbridge Wells
Royal Tunbridge Wells is a town in Kent, England, southeast of central London. It lies close to the border with East Sussex on the northern edge of the High Weald, whose sandstone geology is exemplified by the rock formation High Rocks. Brasenose College, Oxford
Brasenose College (BNC) is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. It began as Brasenose Hall in the 13th century, before being founded as a college in 1509. Xalapa
Xalapa or Jalapa (, ), officially Xalapa-Enríquez (), is the capital city of the Mexican state of Veracruz and the name of the surrounding municipality. Field Hockey
Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, synthetic field, or indoor boarded surface. The stick is made of wood, carbon fibre, fibreglass, or a combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass in different quantities. The stick has two sides; one rounded and one flat; only the flat face of the stick is allowed to progress the ball. The 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics () were held in Berlin, Germany from 15–23 August 2009. The majority of events took place in the Olympiastadion, while the marathon and racewalking events started and finished at the Brandenburg Gate. The Jamaica 4x400 team won originally the bronze medal, but the USA 4x400 team, which originally finished first in 4x400 m relay, was disqualified in 2008 due to Antonio Pettigrew confession of using human growth hormone and EPO between 1997 and 2003.
