Thorleifs was a Swedish dansband, formed in 1962 in Norrhult, Kronoberg County, Sweden and led by Thorleif Torstensson. The band sings in Swedish and many other languages, and released some albums in German. It also took part in Melodifestivalen 2009 Melodifestivalen 2009 was a Sweden, Swedish song contest held between February and March 2009. Thorleifs Hit Collection is a 2002 Thorleifs double compilation album. At the album charts, it peaked at 42nd position in Sweden. Platina Records
Platina Records (Platina Skivor) was a Swedish independent record label founded in 1964 by businessman and songwriter Evert Jakobsson. The label saw great success throughout the mid-1960s with rock acts such as Tages, before turning to dansband music in the 1970s, gaining success with Flamingokvintetten and Thorleifs. After turning to pay to play in 1984, the label shut down in 1989. History 1960s During the early 1960s, Evert Jakobsson worked for '' Svenska Kullagerfabriken'' (SKF) as a computer technician. During his free time, he dreamed of becoming a teen idol, and as a result turned to music. Thorleif Torstensson
Thorleif Torstensson (26 June 1949 – 10 January 2021) was a Swedish singer, saxophonist and guitarist. He was the lead singer of the danceband Thorleifs from its inception in 1962. Torstensson along with Thorleifs took part in Melodifestivalen 2009 with the song " Sweet Kissin' in the Moonlight". He took part as a celebrity contestant on Kändisdjungeln which was broadcast on TV4 in 2009. Sweet Kissin' In The Moonlight
Sweet Kissin' in the Moonlight is a song written by Lina Eriksson and Mårten Eriksson, and originally performed at Melodifestivalen 2009 where Lasse Stefanz was first asked to participate with the song, before they rejected in November 2008 to participate with the song, originally called ''Den första kyssen''. Instead, Thorleifs accepted the invitation, and participated in the fourth semifinal in Malmö on 28 February 2009, where it ended up 5th, and was knocked out of the competition. The song was tested for Svensktoppen on 22 March 2009, but failed to enter the chart. The single peaked 55th position at the Swedish singles chart. Melodifestivalen 2009 was a Sweden, Swedish song contest held between February and March 2009. It was the selection for the 49th song to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest, and was the 48th edition of Melodifestivalen. Five heats were held in the Swedish cities of Gothenburg, Skellefteå, Leksand and Malmö, with Norrköping hosting the final ''Andra Chansen'' round. After the five heats 11 songs had qualified to the final of the contest, contested in the Swedish capital of Stockholm, at the Ericsson Globe, Globe Arena. After the voting of 12 juries and a public televote had been revealed, the final winner was opera singer Malena Ernman with pop/opera song "La Voix (song), La Voix", which received top marks from the public televote, despite only placing eighth after the votes of the 12 juries.
