Thorleifs was a Swedish dansband, formed in 1962 in Norrhult, Kronoberg County, Sweden and led by Thorleif Torstensson. The band sings in Swedish and many other languages, and released some albums in German. Puff, The Magic Dragon
"Puff, the Magic Dragon" (or just "Puff") is a song written by Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary from a poem by Leonard Lipton. It was made popular by Yarrow's group in a 1962 recording released in January 1963. Lipton wrote a poem about a dragon in 1959, and when Yarrow found it, he wrote the lyrics to "Puff" based on the poem. After the song was released, Yarrow searched for Lipton to give him credit for the song. Lyrics The lyrics for "Puff, the Magic Dragon" are based on a 1959 poem by Leonard Lipton, then a 19-year-old Cornell University student. Lipton was inspired by an Ogden Nash poem titled "The Tale of Custard the Dragon", about a "realio, trulio little pet dragon". "The Young Ones" is a single by Cliff Richard and the Shadows. The song, written by Sid Tepper and Roy C. Bennett, is the title song to the 1961 film '' The Young Ones'' and its soundtrack album. With advance orders of over 500,000, it was released in January 1962 on the Columbia (EMI) label and went straight to No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart. It was the first British single to do so since Elvis Presley's " It's Now or Never" in November 1960. It held that position for six weeks and spent 20 weeks in the chart. Thorleif Torstensson
Thorleif Torstensson (26 June 1949 – 10 January 2021) was a Swedish singer, saxophonist and guitarist. He was the lead singer of the danceband Thorleifs from its inception in 1962. Torstensson along with Thorleifs took part in Melodifestivalen 2009 with the song " Sweet Kissin' in the Moonlight". He took part as a celebrity contestant on Kändisdjungeln which was broadcast on TV4 in 2009.
