Thomas Thieme
Thomas Thieme (born 29 October 1948) is a German actor. He is considered to be a prolific stage actor and also appeared in more than 100 film and television productions since 1973. In his film and television appearances, Thieme often plays powerful but morally dubious characters. He is perhaps best-known internationally for his roles as Martin Bormann in '' Downfall'' (2004) and as Communist minister Bruno Hempf in the Oscar-winning ''The Lives of Others'', for which he was compared to Sydney Greenstreet by Roger Ebert in his review. He played former Bayern Munich boss Uli Hoeneß, who had to spent time in jail for tax evasion, in the 2015 television film ''Der Patriarch''. Weimar
Weimar is a city in the state of Thuringia, Germany. It is located in Central Germany between Erfurt in the west and Jena in the east, approximately southwest of Leipzig, north of Nuremberg and west of Dresden. Together with the neighbouring cities of Erfurt and Jena, it forms the central metropolitan area of Thuringia, with approximately 500,000 inhabitants. The city itself has a population of 65,000. The film is set in the late 1940s, the early 1960s, and at the beginning of the Protests of 1968. The film premiered In Competition at the 61st Berlin International Film Festival and was nominated for the Golden Bear. Veiel won the Alfred Bauer Prize at the Berlinale. ''Perfume'' (German: Parfum) is a German television series produced for ZDFneo that was released on November 14, 2018. The series is both inspired by the novel of the same name by Patrick Süskind and the 2006 film '' Perfume: The Story of a Murderer'' by Tom Tykwer but is set in the modern day. Netflix acquired worldwide airing rights outside of German-speaking Europe for the crime series. The series was released on Netflix on December 21, 2018. Ernst August Ferdinand Gennat (1 January 1880 – 20 August 1939) was director of the Berlin criminal police. He worked under three political systems in his 30-year career as one of the most gifted and successful criminologists in the German Reich. His caseload included those of Fritz Haarmann and Peter Kürten. Biography In his childhood, he lived with his parents in staff housing of the correctional facility in Berlin- Plötzensee. He graduated from high school on 13 September 1898, and entered the faculty of law at Frederick William University on 18 October 1901. ''Look Who's Back'' (german: Er ist wieder da, ; ) is a 2015 German satirical black comedy film directed by David Wnendt and based on the 2012 novel of the same name by Timur Vermes. ''Ein Fall für zwei'' (''"A case for two"'') is a German television series, which premiered on 11 September 1981 on ZDF. The series, set in Frankfurt am Main, features two main characters who solve crimes: a defense attorney and a private investigator. Josef Matula (played by Claus Theo Gärtner), a former German police officer, has gone into private business. His method of investigation is very effective and direct, and he sometimes even resorts to dirty tricks. Claus Theo Gärtner portrayed the role until 2013. The series' original opening theme sequence showed the viewer that Matula had been fired from the police and tried or convicted. Dr. Renz has defended him and Matula is seen walking out of the jail accompanied by Renz. Before closing we see that Renz has hired Matula as a private detective. Günther Von Kluge
Günther Adolf Ferdinand von Kluge (30 October 1882 – 19 August 1944) was a German field marshal during World War II who held commands on both the Eastern and Western Fronts. He commanded the 4th Army of the Wehrmacht during the invasion of Poland in 1939 and the Battle of France in 1940, earning a promotion to Generalfeldmarschall. Kluge went on to command the 4th Army in Operation Barbarossa (the invasion of the Soviet Union) and the Battle for Moscow in 1941. Amid the crisis of the Soviet counter-offensive in December 1941, Kluge was promoted to command Army Group Centre replacing Field Marshal Fedor von Bock. Several members of the German military resistance to Adolf Hitler served on his staff, including Henning von Tresckow.
