Thomas Gainsborough School
Thomas Gainsborough School, formerly Great Cornard Upper School, is a secondary school and sixth form in the village of Great Cornard, part of the town of Sudbury in the English county of Suffolk that educates approximately 1,400 pupils. It was granted the status of Specialist School in 1998, and was re-designated Technology College in 2001. The school converted to academy status in January 2015, when it became a member of the Samuel Ward Academy Trust Facilities Included in the school is Great Cornard Sports Centre, and included coffee shop, funded in part by a £563k grant from the English Active lottery fund. The complex features a youth drop-in-centre, dance and martial arts studios, changing rooms, fitness studios, a coach education unit and a social area. The school also completed the building of a Sixth Form study block and library in 2009, this building has since been renamed 'The Bavington Centre', and the Sixth Form area relocated. Jonathan Adams (athlete)
Jonathan Robert Adams (born 11 September 1992) is a Track and field athlete competing in the Shot Put in the F35 classification for athletes with cerebral palsy. Adams qualified to represent the Great Britain team at the 2012 Summer Paralympics, competing in the F34 shot put placing 14th in the final. Jonathan despite reaching qualification standards was not selected to compete at 2016 Summer Paralympics in the F35 Shot Put. Life history Adams was born in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England in 1992, to Robert and Sharon Adams. He is the younger sibling to sister Ayesha. Adams was born weeks premature and spent his early life requiring medical support before being diagnosed with Quadriplegic cerebral palsy. Ian Walker (footballer)
Ian Michael Walker (born 31 October 1971) is an English football coach and former professional footballer, he is the goalkeeping coach of Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG. As a player, he was a goalkeeper who notably played in the Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City. He made 259 league appearances for Spurs and was their first choice keeper from 1994 until just before his departure in 2001. He also finished his career with a three-year spell in the top flight with Bolton Wanderers but all eight of his appearances came in cup competitions. He also had brief loan spells in the Football League with Oxford United and Ipswich Town.
