Thobias Petter Wiibe married Anette Fredrikke Bendixen (1820–1857) in 1848. She was the daughter of Frantz Bendixen (1782–1847) and Anne Clausdatter (1783–1836), from Porsgrunn, Porsgrund. Finn Christian Knudsen (born 13 October 1868) was a Norwegian engineer and politician. He was born in Porsgrunn. He served as mayor of Eidanger from 1907 to 1910, and from 1916 to 1919. Sexton (office)
A sexton is an officer of a church, congregation, or synagogue charged with the maintenance of its buildings and/or the surrounding graveyard. In smaller places of worship, this office is often combined with that of verger. In larger buildings, such as cathedrals, a team of sextons may be employed. Historically in North America and the United Kingdom the "sexton" was sometimes a minor municipal official responsible for overseeing the town graveyard. In the United Kingdom the position still exists today, related to management of the community's graveyard, and the sexton is usually employed by the town/parish or community council. Porsgrunn
is a city and municipality in Telemark in the county of Vestfold og Telemark in Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Grenland. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Porsgrunn. The municipality of Porsgrunn was established on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The town of Brevik and the rural district of Eidanger were merged into the municipality of Porsgrunn on 1 January 1964. The conurbation of Porsgrunn and Skien is considered by Statistics Norway to be the seventh-largest city in Norway. Oslo

Skien () is a city and municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county in Norway.
