Thierry Plas
Thierry Patrick Plas (born 1959) is a Belgian guitarist, first known as lead guitarist and co-songwriter for the Belgian rock group Machiavel. Since 1992, Plas composes and produces also soundtracks for the film and advertising industry at ZOO Productions Company. Biography At the age of 21, he joined Machiavel at a time when the band was going through fundamental (personnel) changes, and looking for a new direction. This led to more of a hard rock sound, combined with greater maturity and simplicity, culminating in the hit single "Fly" from their 1980 album "New Lines". In the 1990s, Thierry Plas became a highly appreciated session musician, playing live and recording with Vaya Con Dios, Vladimir Cosma, Pierre Rapsat, Beverly Jo Scott, Billy Preston and other Belgian, French & international artists. Raxola
Raxola is a Belgian rock band, originally from Brussels. The band has reunited several times over the years with different line-ups. History After playing with Brian James ( The Damned) in Bastard, Yves Kengen created Raxola in Brussels in 1977 with Louis Louis (Louis Houbet, ''aka'' Llouis) and Snikkey (Guy Van Snick). Along with their Antwerp-based labelmates The Kids, they are one of three Belgian groups (the third being Hubble Bubble that featured a young Plastic Bertrand on drums) to have had the opportunity of recording an album at the very start of the local punk scene. In 1978, a year after coming together, the band released their first studio album, the self-titled ''Raxola'' largely recorded live to tape. Twenty years later in 1998, several tracks by these groups were released on pirate compilations that revived interest in Belgian punk. Klaus Klang
Klaus Klang, real name Claude Ongena (born 26 September 1959), is a musician from Brussels, Belgium. He was drummer in the punk band X-Pulsion. After that band split in 1978, he went on to found the band Klang with his brother Kurt Klang (bass), Denis Rufin (drums), and Robert Franckson (guitar), trading drums against guitar and singing. In 1980 Klang won a talent contest by the Dutch music magazine Hitkrant, which led to a record deal with the Dutch label Backdoor. Klang recorded two albums, ''The Pop Theory'' (1981) and ''Dots & Dashes'' (1982). Shortly after releasing their second album Klang broke up, apparently due to the military obligations of some of the members. Klang never had any big hits but got considerable airplay both in Belgium and the Netherlands. In 1986 Klaus Klang released a successful solo single, Soul Thing. Reynaert
Reynaert (born Joseph Reynaerts; 24 July 1955 – 5 November 2020) was a Belgian singer-songwriter, best known for his participation in the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest. Early career Reynaert was born in Seraing, and started busking at the age of 18. In 1978 he won the annual music competition in the town of Spa with the song "Cerf-volant" ("Kite"), which was released as a single. Another single, "Pas assez" ("Not Enough"), followed in 1982 and he released his first album in 1984. Eurovision Song Contest In 1988, Reynaert's song "Laissez briller le soleil" ("Let the Sun Shine") was chosen as the Belgian representative in the 33rd Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 30 April in Dublin.
