Raxola
Raxola is a Belgian rock band, originally from Brussels. The band has reunited several times over the years with different line-ups. History After playing with Brian James ( The Damned) in Bastard, Yves Kengen created Raxola in Brussels in 1977 with Louis Louis (Louis Houbet, ''aka'' Llouis) and Snikkey (Guy Van Snick). Along with their Antwerp-based labelmates The Kids, they are one of three Belgian groups (the third being Hubble Bubble that featured a young Plastic Bertrand on drums) to have had the opportunity of recording an album at the very start of the local punk scene. In 1978, a year after coming together, the band released their first studio album, the self-titled ''Raxola'' largely recorded live to tape. Twenty years later in 1998, several tracks by these groups were released on pirate compilations that revived interest in Belgian punk. Post-punk
Post-punk (originally called new musick) is a broad genre of punk music that emerged in the late 1970s as musicians departed from punk's traditional elements and raw simplicity, instead adopting a variety of avant-garde sensibilities and non-rock influences. The Damned (band)
The Damned are an English punk rock band formed in London in 1976 by lead vocalist Dave Vanian, guitarist Brian James, bassist (and later guitarist) Captain Sensible, and drummer Rat Scabies. They were the first punk band from the United Kingdom to release a single, "New Rose" (1976), release a studio album, ''Damned Damned Damned'' (1977), and tour the United States. They have nine singles that charted on the UK Singles Chart Top 40. The band briefly broke up after '' Music for Pleasure'' (1977), the follow-up to their debut studio album, was critically dismissed. They quickly reformed without Brian James, and released ''Machine Gun Etiquette'' (1979). The Kids (Belgian Band)
The Kids are a Belgian punk rock band formed in 1976. They are Belgium's best known punk band and best remembered for their songs "Fascist Cops" (1978) and "There Will Be No Next Time" (1981). The band broke up in 1985 but reunited in 1996 for the soundtrack recording of the Belgian film ''Dief'' (''Thief''). They have been together ever since, playing concerts around the world. Hubble Bubble is a Belgian punk band in which Plastic Bertrand started his career. Formed in 1973 by Alain Bureau and managed by Bernard Schol, the band released an eponymous album in 1977 on Barclay Records Barclay is a French record company and label founded by Eddie Barclay in 1953. Plastic Bertrand
Roger François Jouret (born 24 February 1954), better known as Plastic Bertrand, is a Belgium, Belgian musician, songwriter, producer, editor and television presenter, best known for the 1977 international hit single "Ça plane pour moi". Biography Early life and bands Jouret was born in Brussels to a France, French father and Ukraine, Ukrainian mother. At the age of nine, he became a singer and drummer in the 'Buffalo Scouts Band', a group he formed with the Scouting in Belgium, Boy Scouts, which performed covers of The Rolling Stones, Rolling Stones songs. He then formed a band called The Pelicans, who performed at parties. The Lords Of The New Church
The Lords of the New Church were an English/American supergroup with a line-up originally consisting of four musicians from 1970s punk bands. This line-up comprised vocalist Stiv Bators (ex- the Dead Boys), guitarist Brian James (ex- the Damned), bassist Dave Tregunna (ex-Sham 69) and drummer Nick Turner (ex- the Barracudas).
