Theertha Satish (born 16 April 2004) is an Indian-born cricketer who plays for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team as a left-handed top order batter and wicket-keeper. Early life Satish was born in Chennai, India, and has lived in Dubai since she was a young child. Her mother, Rathna, is an architect, and her father, Satish Selanambi, is a finance professional. In about 2019, Satish started playing cricket after watching '' Kanaa'' (), a Tamil-language sports drama movie, in which the leading character tries out cricket to please her father, a farmer, and ends up taking the field for India in a World Cup. Previously, Satish had long enjoyed watching the game. Both of Satish's parents have been fully supportive of her involvement in cricket. She and her father watch the game on television together. 2022 Women's Twenty20 Asia Cup
The 2022 Women's Twenty20 Asia Cup was the eighth edition of the Women's Asia Cup tournament which took place from 1 to 15 October 2022 in Sylhet, Bangladesh. The tournament was contested between Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand and United Arab Emirates. On 20 September 2022, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced the schedule of the tournament. Bangladesh were the defending champions, having defeated India by three wickets in the final of the 2018 tournament to win the title for the first time. The tournament was played at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The seven teams played in a round-robin stage, with the top four progressing to the semi-finals. 2022 FairBreak Invitational T20
The 2022 FairBreak Invitational T20 was a women's Twenty20 cricket competition, which took place from 4 to 15 May 2022 in Dubai. The tournament, sanctioned by the ICC, was privately-run by FairBreak Global, a company that aims to promote gender equality. Players from 35 countries were spread across six teams. The tournament was won by Tornadoes, who beat Falcons in the final by 8 wickets. Background The tournament was privately-run by FairBreak Global, with the aim of improving differences in pay, quality of play, and opportunity between men and women in cricket. Kavisha Kumari Egodage (born 23 April 2003) is a women's cricketer who plays for the United Arab Emirates national team. Career A right-handed batswoman and a right-arm off spin bowler, Kavisha has experienced success from a young age. The 2022 GCC Women's Gulf Cup was a women's T20I cricket (WT20I) tournament played in Oman from 20 to 26 March 2022. Organised by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the tournament featured the women's national teams of Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. Bahrain and Saudi Arabia played their first official WT20I matches during this tournament. Chamani Roshini Seneviratne (born 14 November 1978) is a Sri Lankan cricketer who currently plays for the United Arab Emirates as a right-arm medium bowler and right-handed batter. She previously played internationally for Sri Lanka between 1997 and 2013, appearing in one Test match, 80 One Day Internationals and 32 Twenty20 Internationals.
