Thea Krokan Murud
Thea Krokan Murud (born 6 June 1994) is a Norwegian cross-country skier. She participated at the 2011 European Youth Olympic Festival, winning one silver medal in the 7.5 kilometres; then at the 2012 Nordic Junior World Ski Championships, the 2016 Nordic Junior World Ski Championships (U23) and finally at the 2017 Nordic Junior World Ski Championships (U23), where she took the silver medal in the sprint. She made her World Cup debut in March 2015 in Drammen, finishing in 49th place in the sprint prologue. She collected her first World Cup points in the March 2017 Drammen sprint, and reached the top 10 for the first time on home ground in December 2017 in Lillehammer (10 kilometres). The 2015–16 FIS Cross-Country World Cup was the 35th official World Cup season in cross-country skiing for men and women. The season started on 27 November 2015 in Kuusamo, Finland, and ended on 12 March 2016 in Canmore, Alberta, Canada. Therese Johaug set a new record for total points in one season, with 2681. Martin Johnsrud Sundby set a new men's record for total points in one season, with 2634. Sundby won 14 races during the season and surpassed Petter Northug's record of nine victories which he achieved in both 2009–10 and 2012–13. Johaug won 17 races during this season and equaled Marit Bjørgen's record from 2011–12; a record Johaug herself eclipsed with 20 victories in the 2019–20 season. The ''Fédération internationale de ski et de snowboard'' (FIS; en, International Ski and Snowboard Federation) is the highest international governing body for skiing and snowboarding. Founded on 2 February 1924 in Chamonix, France during the inaugural Winter Olympic Games, the FIS is responsible for the Olympic disciplines of Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, Nordic combined, freestyle skiing, and snowboarding. Lillehammer Idrettforening is a Norwegian athletics club from Lillehammer, founded on 28 May 1919. At that time city already had four different sports teams; for cross-country skiing (since 1882), gymnastics (since 1892), speed skating (since 1897) and football (since 1911) respectively. Its most prominent recent member is Morten Sand, who participated at the 2006 European Championships.
