''The Way I See It'' is a 2020 American documentary film directed and produced by Dawn Porter, revolving around Pete Souza, the former Chief Official White House Photographer. Laura Dern serves as producer under her Jaywalker Pictures banner. The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2020. It was released in a limited release on September 18, 2020, by Focus Features, followed by broadcast on MSNBC on October 16, 2020. Synopsis The film follows the life of Pete Souza, the former Chief Official White House Photographer to former presidents Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama, as photographer to president as Souza uses his photography of Obama as commentary to understand where America is now. Dawn Porter (filmmaker)
Dawn Porter is an American documentary filmmaker and founder of production company Trilogy Films. Early life and education Porter is a graduate of the Bronx High School of Science, Swarthmore College (in 1988) and Georgetown University Law School. Trained as an attorney, she became a filmmaker and financed her first film with assistance from the Ford Foundation. Career Porter started her film career by working as executive producer for various films. In 2009, she executive-produced director Jon Bowermaster's ''Terra Antarctica, Re-Discovering the Seventh Continent'', a 49-minute documentary exploring the Antarctica Peninsula and its evolution. In 2009, she also co-executive produced two other films: '' Serious Moonlight'', and ''What Would Darwin Think? Man v. Nature in the Galapagos''. The Telluride Film Festival (TFF) is a film festival held annually in Telluride, Colorado during Labor Day weekend (the first Monday in September). The 49th edition took place on September 2 -6, 2022. History First held on 30 August 1974, the festival, held in the Sheridan Opera House, was started by the Telluride Council for the Arts and Humanities, Bill and Stella Pence, Tom Luddy, and James Card of Eastman-Kodak Film Preserve and Scott Brown. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry. Metacritic's scoring converts each review into a percentage, either mathematically from the mark given, or what the site decides subjectively from a qualitative review.
