''The Way'' is the eighth full-length studio album by American recording artist Macy Gray, released on October 7, 2014 on Kobalt Records. The record follows her Stevie Wonder tribute album ''Talking Book''. Gray supported the album with a North American and Australian tour. The album was molded around the idea that there is little music in today's mainstream for a mature audience. Critical reception ''The Way'' received generally positive reviews from music critics. Macy Gray
Natalie Renée McIntyre (born September 6, 1967), known by her stage name Macy Gray, is an American R&B and soul singer and actress. She is known for her distinctive raspy voice and a singing style heavily influenced by Billie Holiday. Gray has released ten studio albums, and received five Grammy Award nominations, winning one. She has appeared in a number of films, including ''Training Day'', ''Spider-Man'', '' Scary Movie 3'', ''Lackawanna Blues'', '' Idlewild'', '' For Colored Girls'', and '' The Paperboy''. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry. Metacritic's scoring converts each review into a percentage, either mathematically from the mark given, or what the site decides subjectively from a qualitative review. Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Contemporary R&B
Contemporary R&B (or simply R&B) is a popular music genre that combines rhythm and blues with elements of pop, soul, funk, hip hop, and electronic music. The genre features a distinctive record production style, drum machine-backed rhythms, pitch corrected vocals, and a smooth, lush style of vocal arrangement.
