''The Nightmare Returns'' is a live concert video of Alice Cooper. The concert was filmed live in Detroit, Michigan, USA on Halloween 1986 at the start of his "The Nightmare Returns" World Tour, in support of his album '' Constrictor''. This video was originally released in 1987 on VHS and Betamax, and was finally released on DVD in 2006. The music video for "Teenage Frankenstein" consists of footage from this concert. Betamax
Betamax (also known as Beta, as in its logo) is a consumer-level analog recording and cassette format of magnetic tape for video, commonly known as a video cassette recorder. It was developed by Sony and was released in Japan on May 10, 1975, followed by the US in November of the same year. Betamax is widely considered to be obsolete, having lost the videotape format war which saw its closest rival, VHS, dominate most markets. Despite this, Betamax recorders continued to be manufactured and sold until August 2002, when Sony announced that they were discontinuing production of all remaining Betamax models. Halloween or Hallowe'en (less commonly known as Allhalloween, All Hallows' Eve, or All Saints' Eve) is a celebration observed in many countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Saints' Day. Paul Taylor (Winger)
Paul Taylor (born June 4, 1960), formerly credited as Paul Horowitz, is an American musician, who is best known as the keyboardist/guitarist with the late 1980s and early 1990s rock band, Winger (1987–1992, 2001–2003, 2013–2014, 2014–2017, 2018–present). Although he is perhaps most frequently associated with Winger, Taylor has also played with numerous other prominent musicians, including future Sammy Hagar and Boston guitarist Gary Pihl (in his early days), Eric Martin (solo artist and future Mr. Big frontman), Aldo Nova, Steve Perry of Journey, Alice Cooper and Tommy Shaw. Charles Frederick Kip Winger (born June 21, 1961) is an American bass guitarist and singer, active as a member of the rock band Winger and as a solo artist. He initially gained notability as a member of Alice Cooper's band, contributing bass and vocals to his '' Constrictor'' and ''Raise Your Fist and Yell'' albums. Biography Early days Winger was born in Colorado to parents who were both musicians. At age 16, Winger began studying classical music after hearing the works of composers such as Debussy, Ravel, and Stravinsky in ballet class. At that time he sent a demo tape to Alan Parsons, from whom he received a personal reply. Kane Roberts (born Robert William Athas; January 16, 1962) is an American heavy metal guitarist best known for his work with Alice Cooper. Additionally, he has performed as a solo act, and his cover of the unreleased Bon Jovi song "Does Anybody Really Fall In Love Anymore" (which had already been covered by Cher on her '' Heart of Stone'' album) cracked the Top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Teenage Frankenstein" is the second single by American musician Alice Cooper from his 1986 album '' Constrictor''. Though the single failed to chart, it helped to make ''Constrictor'' Cooper's highest charting album since 1980's ''Flush the Fashion''. Along with two other Alice Cooper songs, " He's Back (The Man Behind the Mask)" and "Hard Rock Summer" (which was not featured on " Constrictor"), "Teenage Frankenstein" was written to be featured as part of the soundtrack to the horror film '' Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives''. The 7" single featured a "live" version of " School's Out" as its B-side. The 12" single featured "School's Out (Recorded Live)" as well as a "live" version of "Only Women Bleed". ''Constrictor'' is the ninth solo studio album by American rock musician Alice Cooper, released on September 22, 1986 by MCA Records. After a hiatus from the music industry after the release of ''DaDa'' (1983), Cooper remained in seclusion for three years. He starred in ''Monster Dog'' (1986), a horror film for which he wrote two songs. He also guest starred on the Twisted Sister track " Be Chrool to Your Scuel". Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars.
