The Kelly Family
The Kelly Family is an Irish-American music group consisting of a multi-generational family, usually nine siblings who were joined occasionally on stage in their earlier years by their parents. They play a repertoire of rock, pop, and folk music, and sing fluently in English, Spanish, German, and Basque. The group had chart and concert success around the world, predominantly in continental Europe - mainly in Germany, the Benelux countries, Scandinavia, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, and Portugal - and some in Ireland. They have sold over 20 million albums since the early 1980s and were ranked as the 6th most popular music act in Germany in the 1990s. Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Two parallel sets of charts are concurrently produced and published, one on behalf of Belgium's mainly Dutch-speaking Flanders region, and the other catering to the nation's mainly French-speaking region of Wallonia. Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana
The Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana (FIMI) is an umbrella organization that keeps track of virtually all aspects of the music recording industry in Italy. It was established in 1992, when major corporate labels left the previously existing Associazione dei Fonografici Italiani (AFI). During the following years, most of the remaining Italian record labels left AFI to join the new organisation. As of 2011, FIMI represents 2,500 companies operating in the music business. FIMI is a member of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry and of the Italian employers' federation, Confindustria. The Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry ( pl, Związek Producentów Audio-Video, ZPAV) is the trade organization that represents the interests of the music industry in Poland, and the Polish chapter of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). Founded in 1991, it is authorized by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage to act as a copyright collective in the field of phonogram and videogram producers' rights. The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) is the organisation that represents the interests of the recording industry worldwide. It is a non-profit members' organisation registered in Switzerland and founded in Italy in 1933 by Francesco Braga. ''Wonderful World!'' is a 1981 album by The Kelly Family. The album includes traditional Virginia melodies such as the "New Britain" melody to " Amazing Grace", published in the 1831 collection ''Virginia Harmony''. Information After ''Lieder der Welt'', Kellys' label, Polydor, offered Dan "Papa" Kelly a solo contract for his star, young John Kelly. An offer promptly refused by Papa Kelly. Suddenly, Kelly Family's contract with Polydor expired in 1980. Papa Kelly feels happy because he wanted his children to feel free. Papa Kelly started then his personal label, called ''KEL-Life''. Production began for two albums, ''Wonderful World!'' and ''Christmas for All''. Caroline left the band (and soon the family too) in 1980 after the recordings of ''Kelly Family Loves Christmas and You'', though she very briefly took part in the early recordings of ''Wonderful World!''. The Bundesverband Musikindustrie (English: Federal Music Industry Association), or simply BVMI, represents the music industry in Germany. The association represents the interests of nearly 280 labels and music industry related enterprises, which comprise 90% of the music industry. ''The Kelly Family'' is the third studio album by Euro-American folk band The Kelly Family, released on March 5, 1979 through Polydor. This was the first album released by the label for the band. This was also the first album to be released on shops by the band, and also the first where the band had professional recordings. Informations Background ''The Kelly Family'' was formed in 1974, initially as a hobby by the older siblings, Caroline, Kathy, Paul and John, and one of their cousins, Maribel, when they lived in Spain. They mainly played at other children's parties or in the streets. Popularity began to grow and the hobby became more serious, as Dan and Barbara Kelly joined their sons on the stage. Sverigetopplistan (, lit. "the Sweden top list") is the Swedish national record chart, formerly known as Topplistan (1975–1997) and Hitlistan (1998–2007) and known by its current name since October 2007, based on sales data from the Swedish Recording Industry Association (in Swedish Grammofonleverantörernas förening). Before Topplistan, music sales in Sweden were recorded by Kvällstoppen, whose weekly chart was a combined albums and singles list.
