The Great Indian Kitchen
''The Great Indian Kitchen'' is a 2021 Indian Malayalam-language drama film written and directed by Jeo Baby. The film tells the story of a newly wed woman (Nimisha Sajayan) who struggles to be the submissive wife that her husband ( Suraj Venjaramood) and his family expect her to be. The music was composed by Sooraj S. Kurup and Mathews Pulickan. The film was released on Neestream on 15 January 2021. The film received universal critical acclaim and won Kerala State Film Award for Best Film, Best Screenplay award for Baby and Best Sound Designer award for Tony Babu. The film is being remade in Tamil under '' the same title'' with Aishwarya Rajesh and Rahul Ravindran in the lead roles. Jeo Baby
Jeo Baby is an Indian film director, scriptwriter and actor who works in the Malayalam film industry. His family drama film The Great Indian Kitchen won 51st Kerala state film award for best film and he bagged best screenplay award. Early life He studied cinema at St. Joseph College of Communication, Changanacherry. During his student days, he directed the short film ''Secret Minds'' which discussed same-sex relationships. The short film became controversial following which Jeo Baby and four other students were expelled from the college. Paraiyar, or Parayar or Maraiyar (formerly anglicised as Pariah and Paree), is a caste group found in the Indian states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, and Sri Lanka.
