''The Divorcée'' (german: Die geschiedene Frau) is a 1953 German musical film directed by George Jacoby and starring Marika Rökk, Johannes Heesters and Hans Nielsen. It was based on the operetta '' Die geschiedene Frau'' by Leo Fall and Victor Léon. It was shot at the Bavaria Studios in Munich. The film's sets were designed by the art director Robert Herlth. Plot Lukas van Deesteldonck is not only president of the Dutch sleeping car company, but also extremely pedantic and sometimes choleric. His wife Gonda, a well-known revue star, has a completely different temperament. That is why there is always a crisis in the marriage. Gloria Film
Gloria Film was a West German film production and distribution company. It was established in 1949 by Ilse Kubaschewski. An earlier, unconnected company of the same name had existed during the silent era in Germany, and had been absorbed into UFA in the 1920s. During the 1930s an Austrian production company also called itself Gloria. The company was set-up by Kubaschewski, a cinema-owner, who had noted that re-releases of Nazi-era films, particularly those made by UFA were easily outgrossing foreign film imports and post-war realist rubble films. Initially her company specialised in acquiring the rights to classic German films, but gradually she began co-funding new films with production companies. Gusti Wolf
Gusti Wolf (11 April 1912 – 5 May 2007) was an Austrian stage, film, and television actress. Born in Vienna, Wolf was adopted by the painter, Felix Albrecht Harta who became her foster father. Wolf made her stage debut at the Burgtheater in 1934 and from there moved on to Ostrava, Munich, and Berlin. In 1946, she was engaged at the Burgtheater again, whose Honorary Member she became in 1987. She made her film debut in 1937, played mainly supporting roles in a number of UFA movies, and after the war continued her film career, playing alongside actors such as Hans Moser, Susi Nicoletti, Johannes Heesters, Marika Rökk, and Oskar Sima. Bavaria Studios
Bavaria Studios are film production studios located in Munich, the capital of the region of Bavaria in Germany, and a subsidiary of Bavaria Film. History The studios were constructed in the suburb of Geiselgasteig in 1919 shortly after the First World War. During their early years they were known as the Emelka Studios, while Geiselgasteig has also often been used to refer to them. Conducted by the composer, It opened to considerable success at the Carltheater in Vienna on 23 December 1908 with Hubert Marischka as Karel. It was translated into Italian and premiered at the Teatro Lirico Internationale in Milan as ' on 16 August 1909, then translated into English and performed at the Vaudeville Theatre in London as ''The Girl in the Train'' from 4 June 1910. Performances followed in Rome on 19 January 1911, in Paris as ' at the Théâtre Apollo on 18 February, and in Madrid as ' at the Teatro Eslava on 23 December the same year, conducted by the composer.
