''The Delivery Man'' is a British sitcom shown on ITV for one series in 2015. The series stars Darren Boyd as Matthew Bunting, a former police constable starting a new career as a midwife. From August 2015 the series starting showing on Netflix in the UK, Ireland, United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Production A pilot episode was shot in February 2014. Sitcom
A sitcom, a portmanteau of situation comedy, or situational comedy, is a genre of comedy centered on a fixed set of characters who mostly carry over from episode to episode. Sitcoms can be contrasted with sketch comedy, where a troupe may use new characters in each sketch, and stand-up comedy, where a comedian tells jokes and stories to an audience. Sitcoms originated in radio, but today are found mostly on television as one of its dominant narrative forms. A situation comedy television program may be recorded in front of a studio audience, depending on the program's production format. The effect of a live studio audience can be imitated or enhanced by the use of a laugh track. A midwife is a health professional who cares for mothers and newborns around childbirth, a specialization known as midwifery. The education and training for a midwife concentrates extensively on the care of women throughout their lifespan; concentrating on being experts in what is normal and identifying conditions that need further evaluation. In most countries, midwives are recognized as skilled healthcare providers. Midwives are trained to recognize variations from the normal progress of labor and understand how to deal with deviations from normal. Llewella Gideon (born 27 September 1967 in Peckham, South London) is a British actress, comedian and writer.
