''The Chieftain of Göinge'' (Swedish: ''Göingehövdingen'') is a 1953 Swedish historical adventure film directed by Åke Ohberg and starring Edvin Adolphson, Alf Kjellin and Eva Dahlbeck.Klossner p.73 It was shot at the Sundbyberg Studios in Stockholm. The film's sets were designed by the art director Arne Åkermark. It is based on the life of the seventeenth century Danish military commander Svend Poulsen known for leading men from Danish-owned in Scania. Åke Ohberg (20 July 1905 – 18 July 1975) was a cinema of Sweden, Swedish actor and film director. He appeared in about 30 roles in films between 1932 and 1961. Ohberg was born to Johan and Hulda Ohberg in Västerås, Sweden. Marriage and Family He married actress Birgit Chenon but that marriage did not last. Svend Poulsen
Svend Poulsen ( – ), also referred to as Svend Poulsen Gønge ( sv, Svend Gjönge Povlsen) was a Danish-Norwegian military commander in the 17th century, serving in the armies of Christian IV, Frederick III, and Christian V. He fought in the Torstenson War, Second Northern War, and the Scanian War, and led the '' snaphane'' militia in guerilla warfare against Sweden in occupied Zealand from 1658 to 1659. He was popularized under the name Gøngehøvdingen ( en, the Gønge chieftain) in 1853, when his exploits were fictionalized under that name by Danish author Carit Etlar.
