''The Amazing Race Asia 5'' is the fifth season of ''The Amazing Race Asia'', a reality television game show based on the American series ''The Amazing Race''. The fifth installment of the show returned after a 6-year hiatus and featured eleven teams of two for the first time in the Asia's version of franchise, each with a pre-existing relationship, in a race across Southeast Asia to win US$100,000. The season premiered on 13 October 2016 and the finale aired on 15 December 2016. Allan Wu returned to host his fifth season of ''The Amazing Race Asia'' and eleventh season of ''The Amazing Race'' franchise overall. Allan Wu (, born on June 11, 1972) is a Singapore-based Chinese-American actor, host, VJ and former model. He is perhaps best known for being the host of 3 different editions of the popular reality game show, ''The Amazing Race''. He was the host of 5 seasons of AXN Asia's ''The Amazing Race Asia'', 3 seasons of International Channel Shanghai's '' The Amazing Race: China Rush'' and 4 seasons of Shenzhen Media Group's Chinese edition of ''The Amazing Race''. Zabrina Fernandez
Zabrina Fernandez (born November 17, 1979) is a Malaysian television producer. She was the first winner of ''The Amazing Race Asia'', a franchise of the popular reality show ''The Amazing Race''. Zabrina and Joe Jer was the first all-female team to win in The Amazing Race franchise and, at the time, were the first team to win without relying on a Fast Forward or a Yield and also the first winners to win only the final leg of the race. Zabrina is the youngest of four siblings. Her mother is of Malay ethnicity and her father is Indian Malaysian. She is also the sister of Malaysian film director Joshua Fernandez and red fm DJ JJ Fernandez. She is a producer/director and was attached to Ntv7 and Channel V.
