The Amazing Race 1 (China)
''The Amazing Race 1'' () is the first season of the Chinese reality television series ''The Amazing Race'' () based on the American reality TV series, ''The Amazing Race''. It features eight teams of two in a race around the world. This is the second version of ''The Amazing Race'' to be produced in China, following '' The Amazing Race: China Rush''. This new version was broadcast on Shenzhen TV, and had its premiere on October 17, 2014. The hosts for the show are Hong Kong actor Andy On (episodes 1 and 2) and Singapore based Chinese-American actor Allan Wu, who was also the host of ''The Amazing Race Asia'' and ''The Amazing Race: China Rush'' (episodes 3 to 10). Infiniti was the main sponsor for this event, including the grand prize: two Infiniti Q50Ls. All logos associated with the Chinese ''Amazing Race'' had the Infiniti logo. Andy On
Andy On () (born May 11, 1977) is an American actor and martial artist. Life and career On was born on May 11, 1977, in Providence, Rhode Island. He is a native of the US, and can speak English, Mandarin, and a bit of Cantonese. Andy On did not graduate from high school. He worked as a bartender in Rhode Island. While doing this, he was approached by China Star founder Charles Heung and filmmaker Tsui Hark to take over the role of one of Jet Li's film characters, '' Black Mask'', in '' Black Mask 2: City of Masks'' (2002). He had no martial arts background. Director Tsui Hark had to send Andy to Shaolin Temple one month for training. He even received some guidance from Jet Li himself. Despite the poor reviews and the bad box office ratings, On continued to act, improving in both martial arts and acting. Dongtai () is a coastal county-level city under the administration of Yancheng, Jiangsu province, China. It has a population of roughly 1,170,000 estimated for 2007. Tai'an () is a prefecture-level city in Western Shandong Province of the People's Republic of China. Tangshan () is a coastal, industrial prefecture-level city in the northeast of Hebei province. It is located in the eastern part of Hebei Province and the northeastern part of the North China Plain.
