''The Alesha Show'' is the second studio album by English singer Alesha Dixon. It was released by Asylum Records on 24 November 2008 in the United Kingdom. Her first album to be released domestically following the cancellation of her debut album '' Fired Up'' (2006), Dixon used her full name for the first time while releasing ''The Alesha Show'' after previously being credited mononymously. Producers on the album include Brian Higgins and Xenomania as well as Steve Booker, Harvey Mason, Jr., Kuk Harrell, Stephen Lipson, Soulshock & Karlin, Alex da Kid, and Al Shux. The album debuted and peaked at number 11 on the UK Albums Chart and reached the top 30 in Finland and Spain. In the UK, it was eventually certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) for sales in excess of 300,000 units. Alesha Dixon
Alesha Anjanette Dixon (born 7 October 1978) is an English singer, rapper, dancer, television personality, and author. She gained recognition in the early 2000s as a member of the R&B, garage and hip hop group Mis-Teeq. The group disbanded in 2005 and Dixon then pursued a music career as a solo artist, signing a recording contract with Polydor Records. She recorded her debut solo studio album, '' Fired Up'' in 2006, releasing her debut single "Lipstick", followed by " Knockdown", after which her popularity as a singer declined and she was subsequently dropped from Polydor. In 2007, Dixon won the fifth series of the BBC One dancing competition show ''Strictly Come Dancing''. Her television exposure led to a successful musical comeback, which included her signing to Asylum Records. "Let's Get Excited" is a song performed by English singer-songwriter Alesha Dixon. It is the third single from her second studio album, ''The Alesha Show'', released by Asylum Records. The song has been added to BBC Radio 1's A-List. The single was the second single taken from "The Alesha Show" in most countries. Background "Let's Get Excited" was written by Dixon, Kuk Harrell, Sean Hall and Todd Herfinda and is an up-tempo dance track. After writing with Dixon, Harrell and Sean K produced the song on behalf of RedZone Entertainment,''The Alesha Show'' liner notes the company which he is managed by. Harrell was also the song's vocal producer and engineer. Lyrically, the song namechecks Madonna, and makes a reference to "Into the Groove", a 1985 Madonna song. ''The Independent'' is a British online newspaper. It was established in 1986 as a national morning printed paper. ''Dotmusic'' was a music webzine that existed as a standalone website from 1 June 1995 to December 2003. Initially intended as the web complement to the UK music industry trade magazine ''Music Week'', the site was relaunched in December 1998 as a website for music fans with features, interviews and the UK charts. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry. Metacritic's scoring converts each review into a percentage, either mathematically from the mark given, or what the site decides subjectively from a qualitative review. British Phonographic Industry (BPI) is the British recorded music industry's Trade association. The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data.
