Japanese singer Ringo Sheena has been a member of many bands in the course of her career. Ringo Sheena
, known by her stage name , is a Japanese singer, songwriter and musician. She is also the founder and lead vocalist of the band Tokyo Jihen. She describes herself as "". She was ranked number 36 in a list of Japan's top 100 musicians compiled by HMV in 2003. Early life Sheena was born with an esophageal atresia in which the esophagus narrows as it approaches the stomach. Treatment of this involved several operations, at least one of which required her right shoulder blade to be cut open. These surgeries left Sheena with large scars on her shoulder blades, said to give the impression that an angel's wings had been removed. Initial solo career Sheena released her first official single "Kōfukuron" in May 1998, when she was 19 years old. She subsequently made singles "Kabukichō no Joō" and "Koko de Kiss Shite", the latter becoming her first hit. Heisei Fūzoku
, also known as ''Japanese Manners'', is a studio album by Japanese singer-songwriter Ringo Sheena and conductor and violinist Neko Saitō, released on February 21, 2007. The vinyl record version and the DVD "Daiginjou" were released on April 25, 2007. This album serves as the soundtrack for the movie . Background Ringo Sheena initially intended to create a highly produced, computer-based sound for the soundtrack and went as far as to record some instrumental demos. However, director Mika Ninagawa demanded songs with lyrics, so she decided to record orchestrated versions using Neko Saitō's arrangements, which he had previously written for her concerts. Though she originally intended to make this album with Tokyo Jihen, drummer Toshiki Hata broke his leg and thus only the other band members were able to participate. The Cranberries
The Cranberries were an Irish rock band formed in Limerick, Ireland. Originally named the Cranberry Saw Us, the band were formed in 1989 by lead singer Niall Quinn, guitarist Noel Hogan, bassist Mike Hogan and drummer Fergal Lawler. Quinn was replaced as lead singer by Dolores O'Riordan in 1990 and they changed their name to the Cranberries. was a live show performed by Japanese musician Sheena Ringo at the Kaho Theater ( in Iizuka City, Fukuoka. The event took place on July 30, 2000. The event's official name is "". A video recording of the event was released on DVD by EMI Music Japan on September 17, 2008 as part of the celebration for the 10th anniversary of Ringo Sheena's debut. Ticket lottery Due to the high demand for tickets exceeding the capacity of the Kaho Theater (a theater featuring traditional Japanese architecture with a capacity of 1,000 people), tickets for the concert were sold by lottery. The high demand for tickets resulted in many being sold at auction for a higher price. Composed of both live and studio recordings, it was released on September 13, 2000 by Toshiba EMI / Virgin Music. The RIAJ certified ''Ze-Chyou Syuu'' as a gold certified album for 200,000 copies shipped. , also known as ''Revolt Ecstasy'', is a video album by Japanese singer and songwriter Ringo Sheena, released on 7 December 2000 by Toshiba EMI. It contains a live recording of Sheena during her first tour of the same name. Sheena also released the video album " simultaneously. Outline ''Gekokujyo Xstasy'' was the first nationwide tour for Shiina performed from April 17, 2000 to June 7. The live video takes up two performances at NHK Hall and at Fukuoka Sunpalace mainly from this tour. The stage design of the tour makes a hospital a motif like her single "Honnou."
