Teja Gregorin
Teja Gregorin (born 29 June 1980 in Ljubljana, SFR Yugoslavia) is a retired Slovenian biathlete. Career She was a member of the Slovenian biathlon team from 2002 to 2017, having been a cross-country skier before that. Her best result in the Biathlon World Cup is 2nd place in the 15 km Individual race in the World Championships held in Pyeongchang, Korea during the 2008–09 season. At the 2012 World Championships, Gregorin won the silver medal at the mixed relay, together with Andreja Mali, Klemen Bauer and Jakov Fak. The Slovenian biathlete was the only competitor who failed the 2017 doping retests from the 2010 Winter Olympics. In October 2017, the International Biathlon Union said that two samples given by Teja Gregorin tested positive for GHRP-2, a banned substance which stimulates the body to produce more growth hormone, in samples taken the week before competition started. Ljubljana
Ljubljana (also known by other historical names) is the capital and largest city of Slovenia. It is the country's cultural, educational, economic, political and administrative center. Klemen Bauer (born 9 January 1986 in Ljubljana, Slovenia) is a Slovenian biathlete. Bauer represented Slovenia at the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics, where he finished 4th in the sprint event. The 46th Biathlon World Championships was held in Nové Město na Moravě, Czech Republic, from 7 to 17 February 2013. There were a total of 11 competitions: sprint, pursuit, individual, mass start and relay races for both men, women and a mixed relay. The 44th Biathlon World Championships was held in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia from March 3–13, 2011. There was a total of 11 competitions: sprint, pursuit, individual, mass start, and relay races for men and women, and mixed relay. All the events during this championships also counted for the 2010–11 Biathlon World Cup season. Championship highlights The Championships kicked off with the Mixed relay event which is seeking to make its way onto the Olympic programme for the 2014 games in Sochi. As the first event of the programme, it was finally given importance by the different teams, with all nations fielding their best teams, in difference to earlier world cup events. The 42nd Biathlon World Championships were held in Östersund, Sweden from 8 to 17 February 2008. It was the second time Östersund was hosting the Biathlon World Championships, the first being in 1970. It was also 50 years after the first Biathlon World Championships, which were held 1958 in Saalfelden, Austria. There were a total of 11 competitions: sprint, pursuit, individual, mass start, and relay races for men and women, and the relatively new mixed relay. The championships were dominated by the German, Norwegian, and Russian teams, which would win every competition and 28 of the 33 available medals. Biathlon at the 2006 Winter Olympics consisted of ten biathlon events. They were held at the Cesana-San Sicario arena. The events began on 11 February and ended on 25 February 2006. Approximately 6,500 spectators were expected by the organizing committee. In these games, biathlon events were open to both men and women but they raced in different distances in their own events. Men from 28 nations and women from 27 nations qualified to participate in the events. Only seven nations in total took home medals, Germany winning the most (5 gold, 4 silver, 2 bronze).
