Teiskontie
Teiskontie is a street and highway in Tampere, Finland. As its name implies, it runs from the center of Tampere towards Teisko, a former municipality connected to Tampere in 1972. To the east of the highway junction of Hervanta, it is part of Highway 12 leading in the direction of Lahti and Kouvola. On the east side of Lake Alasjärvi, Teiskontie has a connection to Highway 9 ( E63) leading in the direction of Jyväskylä and Kuopio. Teiskontie starts at the intersection of Itsenäisyydenkatu, Kalevan puistotie and Sammonkatu in the Liisankallio district. It runs through Kaleva as a wide esplanade with residential apartment buildings and commercial premises. To the east, Teiskontie runs between several districts: Kauppi and Niihama border to the north, Kissanmaa, Ruotula, Takahuhti and Pappila to the south. Tampere University Hospital
Tampere University Hospital ( fi, Tampereen yliopistollinen sairaala, TAYS, sv, Tammerfors universitetssjukhus) is a teaching hospital of Tampere University along Teiskontie at the Kauppi district in Tampere, Finland. Sammonkatu
Sammonkatu is a wide park street in the Kaleva (Tampere), Kaleva district in Tampere, Finland. It starts at the intersection of Itsenäisyydenkatu (formerly known as ''Puolimatkankatu'') and Teiskontie (formerly ''Teiskonkatu''). The street is part of Kaleva's nationally significant built cultural environment. Along it is, among other things, Sampola, a public building with Sampola Library and Tammerkoski High School. The name Sammonkatu is based on the Finnish epic poetry, the ''Kalevala'', like many other street names in the area. In the ancient poems of the ''Kalevala'', ''Sampo'' is a mythical artifact that generates wealth. Paasikiven–Kekkosentie ("Paasikivi–Kekkonen Road"), or Rantaväylä, is a busy car traffic route located in Tampere, Finland, which serves as a regional transit road and a significant access route to the city center. It is a four-lane highway owned by the Finnish state and part of Highway 12. ''Paasikiven–Kekkosentie'' is located between the Nokia's motorway and the Teiskontie street junction. The originally ''Paasikiven–Kekkosentie'' was seven kilometers long and was built in several phases. The first part was completed on the southern shore of Lake Näsijärvi and north of Tampere's city center in the mid-1970s. Takahuhti
Takahuhti is a district in Tampere, Finland. It is located in eastern part of the city, close to Atala, Linnainmaa, Kissanmaa and Messukylä. There are many prehistoric residences and finds in the area. Takahuhti was the largest village in Messukylä from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. The Battle of Tampere was also fought in Takahuhti during the 1918 civil war. The area is dominated by detached houses and there is a school built in 1939. Historian and professor Unto Salo, has concluded from the ancient discoveries that the village of Takahuhti has been inhabited since the Iron Age and that there were four houses in the village at that time. Four Iron Age cemeteries are known from the village's area of influence, the Kartanonsaari, Kukkoinkivi, Veijanmäki and Pappula cemeteries. Kissanmaa
Kissanmaa is a district in the eastern part of Tampere, Finland, along the Teiskontie street. It belongs to the subdivision of Sampo, and it is located 3 kilometers from the city center. Kissanmaa is surrounded by Ruotula and Uusikylä in the east, Hakametsä in the south, Kaleva in the west and Kauppi in the north. Most of the residential houses are detached houses, but there are also apartment buildings of different sizes in the western part of the area. Niihama (district)
Niihama is a neighbourhood in the northeast part of the city of Tampere, Finland. The area is mostly wooded and mainly for outdoor use. There are cross-country ski runs in winter, and there is also a water sports center and Niihama Allotment Garden. Niihama is bordered on the west by Kauppi, on the north by Lake Näsijärvi, on the south by Teiskontie and on the east by Highway 9. The smaller lakes in the Niihama district are Lake Alasjärvi, Lake Toritunjärvi and Lake Niihamanjärvi. Kauppi (district)
Kauppi is an eastern part of the city of Tampere, Finland. It is part of larger Sampo district. The area is mostly forested and there are ' that are cross-country ski trails in winter. The Kauppi Sports Center has a sports stadium, a greyhound track, a ski lodge, a baseball field and football pitches. Itsenäisyydenkatu (literally "Independence Street") is an east–west street in the center of Tampere, Finland. It is a significant street connection in the city center of Tampere in terms of transport connections, as it leads from Tampere's railway station to the Liisankallio district in the Tammela district. On the west side of the station, the street continues as the Hämeenkatu street, at its eastern end it meets Kalevan puistokatu, branching into Teiskontie and Sammonkatu.
