Ted Workman
Mark Edward "Ted" Workman (born December 30, 1931–August 13, 2020) was a financial advisor and former owner of the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League. Early life Workman graduated from Bishop's College School and Lower Canada College. He left McGill University before graduation to manage his family's investments business. Business career Workman worked as a manager selection and asset allocation advisor for large institutional investors, including pension funds, university endowments, cooperatives, and retirement funds. He was the founder and developer of Performex, a proprietary investment analytical system used by Andina Family Offices, a United States financial advisory firm. Workman currently serves as a asset allocation and portfolio structuring consultant for Andina. Joe Atwell
W. M. "Joe" Atwell (August 25, 1919 – December 13, 1988) was a construction investor and builder who was the co-owner of the Montreal Alouettes from 1965–1967 and sole owner from 1967-1969. Originally from Hamilton, Ontario, Atwell constructed and sold upscale homes in Highland Beach, Florida and Boca Raton, Florida. In 1965, he purchased 50% of Ted Workman's shares in the Alouettes and became the team's chairman. On November 13, 1967, Atwell became the sole owner of the Alouettes. Under Atwell's sole ownership, the Alouetes never won more than 3 games in a season and missed the playoffs each year. Canadian Football League East Division
The East Division is one of the two regional divisions of the Canadian Football League, its counterpart being the West Division. Although the CFL was not founded until 1958, the East Division and its clubs are descended from earlier leagues. The four teams in the division are the Toronto Argonauts, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Montreal Alouettes, and Ottawa Redblacks. Several now-defunct teams have also played in the East Division including two teams from the United States and a large number of teams that have played in Hamilton, Montreal, and Ottawa prior to the current teams from those cities.
