The following is a list of characters that first appeared in the ITV (TV network), ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street'' in 2008, by order of first appearance. Tina McIntyre Tina McIntyre, played by Michelle Keegan, made her first appearance on 7 January 2008, Tina cemented herself as the new "gobby goddess" of Weatherfield. Tina was initially introduced as a new girlfriend for established character, David Platt (Coronation Street), David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd). Dr Matt Carter is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera '' Coronation Street'', played by Oliver Mellor. He made his first on screen appearance on 20 August 2010. Peter Barlow (Coronation Street)
Peter Barlow is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street'', played by Chris Gascoyne from 2000. The character of Peter was born on screen during an episode broadcast on 5 April 1965, he was born along with his twin sister Susan (Katie Heannau, Wendy Jane Walker, Suzy Patterson, Joanna Foster) to parents Ken (William Roache) and Valerie Barlow (Anne Reid). Barbara Knox
Barbara Knox, MBE (''née'' Brothwood, formerly Mullaney; born 30 September 1933) is an English actress, best known for her long-running portrayal of Rita Tanner in the ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street''.
