Mikey North
Michael "Mikey" North (born 27 September 1986) is an English actor best known for his role as Gary Windass in the ITV soap opera '' Coronation Street'' since 2008. Early life North was born in the Cayton area of Scarborough and began acting at the age of twelve in productions locally around the town. He was noticed by an agent at the age of eighteen whilst acting in a play at Scarborough Sixth Form College. Career North's first professional work was in the play 'Bottle Universe' in London's West End, which won him the British Theatre Guide's award for the most promising newcomer. Cayton
Cayton is a village and civil parish in the Scarborough borough of North Yorkshire, England, south of Scarborough. History Cayton is mentioned in the ''Domesday book'' as "Caitune". In 2010, Cayton won a Silver-gilt, at the Britain in Bloom awards. This was achieved despite earlier sabotage attacks on a number of flower beds in the village. Second World War Second World War defences were constructed around Cayton. They included a section post and several pillboxes. Many of the remaining defences have been subject to coastal erosion. The village sent 45 men to the First World War, and 60 to the Second. There was not a single fatality amongst the combined 105 men, with only one soldier suffering a serious injury during the First World War, then being subsequently spared by a German Officer. The Royal Today
''The Royal Today'' is a British medical soap opera, and a spin-off of the similarly themed drama, ''The Royal''. The concept is that whilst ''The Royal'' is set in the late 1960s, ''The Royal Today'' featured the same hospital in the present day, with a new set of characters working in the same location. Each episode followed the events of a single day, and the show was broadcast daily (except for the weekends), so the series could be said to progress in real time. The first series of 50 half-hour episodes began on 7 January 2008 on the ITV network airing from 4 pm-4.30 pm. Although there were a number of running storylines, the series generally eschewed the use of cliffhangers. The series was axed in March 2008 after poor ratings, on an average of 1.175 million viewers.
