Tasha (musician)
Tasha Viets-VanLear, better known as just Tasha, is an American musician from Chicago. Early life Tasha was born and raised in the Albany Park neighborhood of Chicago. Tasha grew up involved in theater and poetry. Tasha attended Northside College Preparatory High School as well as St. Olaf College. After moving back to Chicago after college, Tasha worked for Black Youth Project 100. Career Tasha released her first EP in 2016 titled ''Divine Love''. The EP is described as being about both "political activism and self-love". In 2018, Tasha announced plans to release her debut full-length album, and shared the new song "Kind of Love". Tasha also shared a new song titled "New Place" prior to releasing the record. Albany Park ( ) is one of 77 well-defined community areas of Chicago. Located on the Northwest Side of the City of Chicago with the North Branch of the Chicago River forming its east and north boundaries, it includes the ethnically diverse Albany Park neighborhood, with one of the highest percentages of foreign-born residents of any Chicago neighborhood. ''All Songs Considered'' is a weekly online multimedia program started in January 2000 by NPR's ''All Things Considered'' director Bob Boilen. At first, the show featured information and streaming audio about the songs used as bumper music on ''All Things Considered''. The program has turned into a source of discovery for new music of all genres. In August 2005, the program began podcasting for free.
