Tanjung Manis Airport ( Malay: Lapangan Terbang Tanjung Manis) is an airport located in Mukah Division, Sarawak, Malaysia. Although Tanjung Manis is now under the jurisdiction of Mukah Division, due to its close proximity to Sarikei Sarikei is a town, and the capital of Sarikei District (985 square kilometres) in Sarikei Division, Sarawak, Malaysia. Sarikei
Sarikei is a town, and the capital of Sarikei District (985 square kilometres) in Sarikei Division, Sarawak, Malaysia. It is located on the Rajang River, near where the river empties into the South China Sea. The district population (year 2010 census) was 56,798. The most distinctive feature of the bustling waterfront is a 3.6 m high pineapple statue and also the tallest building in Sarikei - Wisma Jubli Mutiara. The town itself consists of a main road, Repok Road which is bisected by another road leading to the new development in Kampung Seberang which is known as Susur Jambu. Etymology There are many theories regarding the origin of the name of Sarikei. Once upon a time, Sarikei was the centre for buying and selling chickens and hence it was called "Sa-rie-kei" ("Sa-rie" in most Chinese dialects means "centre" and "kei" means "street"). Mukah
Mukah ( muːkəh), historically known as Muka is a coastal town which serves as the capital and the administrative center of the Mukah Division since 1 March 2002. The district also covers an area of with a population about 49,900 in the Mukah town and 18,800 in the Dalat administrative town of Dalat District. It is located on the Borneo island, by the South China Sea, about 3 hours by road from the city of Sibu. Mukah is also accessible by air by MASwings from Kuching and Miri. The duration of both flights is about one hour. There are also speed boats connecting the town of Dalat (about from Mukah) to Sibu. The speed boat trip takes approximately 2 hours. Mukah Division
Mukah Division is one of the twelve administrative divisions in Sarawak, Malaysia. It was established on 1 March 2002 and it has a total area of 6,997.61 square kilometres. Mukah Division contains five administrative districts: Mukah, Dalat, Daro, Matu and Tanjung Manis District. The total population is 110,543. MASwings
MASwings Sdn Bhd (doing business as MASwings) is a regional airline operating the Rural Air Services (RAS) in East Malaysia. It took over the routes operated by FlyAsianXpress (2006-2007) and the RAS flights by Malaysia Airlines (1965-2006), both being the successors of Borneo Airways (1953-1965). The first flight was on 1 October 2007, which is also the anniversary of the founding of Malaysia Airlines in 1972.
