Tandoor (web Series)
''Tandoor'' is an Indian Hindi-language web series directed by Nivedita Basu. It features Rashami Desai , Tanuj Virwani and Amitriyaan in the lead roles. Loosely inspired from the infamous 1995 real life incident, the series revolves around a married couple whose lives take an unexpected turn when a friend enters into wife's life leading to her murder. The shooting wrapped up in November 2020. The series released on 23 July 2021 on Voot , MX Player and Ullu App. Premise Based on the spine-chilling Tandoor case in Delhi, the show reconstructs the events before and after the gruesome murder of a woman by her own husband. Nivedita Basu is an Indian television producer who worked as Creative Director at Balaji Telefilms. Nivedita turned producer in 2015 and owns a celebrity cricket team (Kolkata Baabu Moshayes) on the television reality show ''Box Cricket League''. Early life Basu was born in New Delhi. Her father, Prateek Basu was an ex-Army officer and mother Rita Basu is a national-level Table Tennis and handball player. She has an elder sister, Sonali Basu Tyagi. Wrap, as used in the phrase "That's a wrap" has been used by directors since the early days of the film industry to signal the end of filming. Since the 1920s, filmmakers have been using this phrase when principal photography is concluded and the film is ready to go into post-production. Murder Of Naina Sahni
Naina Sahni was the victim of the 1995 tandoor murder case. On 2 July 1995, 29-year-old Sahni was killed by her husband Sushil Sharma, an Indian National Congress youth leader. Sushil Sharma was convicted for the murder by the Trial Court, Delhi High Court and Supreme Court. In October 2013, Sharma's death penalty was commuted to life imprisonment by the Supreme Court. Tandoor murder case Sushil Sharma objected to his wife Naina Sahni's friendship with Matloob Karim. Matloob and Naina were classmates and fellow Congress workers. Sushil suspected Naina of having an extramarital relationship with Matloob. On the night of 2 July 1995, Sushil came home and saw Naina talking on the phone and consuming alcohol.
