The Tan Sri Ainuddin Wahid Mosque ( ms, Masjid Tan Sri Ainuddin Wahid) is a mosque in Taman Universiti, Skudai, Iskandar Puteri, Johor, Malaysia. The mosque was officially opened on 20 May 2005 by the Tunku Mahkota of Johor at that time, Tunku Ibrahim Ismail Sultan Iskandar and was named after the former Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) vice-chancellor, Tan Sri Ainuddin Wahid. Taman Universiti
Taman Universiti is a suburb in Iskandar Puteri, Johor Bahru District, Johor, Malaysia. It is located between Skudai and Pulai. Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) is a 5-minute drive away from Taman Universiti, hence the name of the town. The town is dominated by civil servants (lecturers, office workers) and students from UTM. The university alone has 30,000 students who mostly live on campus but visit the town to shop. Ainuddin Wahid
Tan Sri Dato' Ainuddin bin Abdul Wahid (3 November 1929 – 18 May 2013) was a Malaysian educationist and the first inaugural Vice Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia ( UTM). He made great contributions to educational institutions in Malaysia. In 2000, he received the Anugerah Maal Hijrah 1421H prominent figure award. Biography Early education He received his early or lower education at the Teluk Anson (Teluk Intan) Boys Malay School, Perak. Since elementary school, he began to show his interest in engineering, although at that point he did not yet fully understand what the engineering field was.
