Taman Connaught
Connaught (Jawi: کوناکت, Chinese: 康乐花园, Tamil:கொனாச்ட் ) is a residential township in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is strategically located at the confluence of three major roads namely, Kuala Lumpur Middle Ring Road 2, East–West Link Expressway and Cheras Highway. The Cheras Leisure Mall is situated near there, and most inhabitants of Connaught often go to Leisure Mall for shopping and meeting up with friends. The Connaught MRT station of the Kajang line is located near Cheras Sentral, formerly known as Plaza Phoenix. Features Connaught Night Market Located along Jalan Cheras, Connaught Night Market is open only on Wednesdays every week from 5:00 pm to 1:00 am. Taman Connaught Station
The Taman Connaught MRT station is an elevated rapid transit station on the MRT Kajang Line, located in Taman Connaught, Bandar Tun Razak constituency in southeastern Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Its exact location is next to the Cheras Sentral shopping mall, which is at Federal Route 1 Jalan Cheras near the northern end of the Cheras-Kajang Expressway, close to the Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur-Selangor border. The station is also near to the Cheras-Kajang Interchange at the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE) which is currently under construction. The elevated expressway will be even higher than the MRT track which is pretty high from the road. It was opened on 17 July 2017, along with 19 adjoining stations (from Muzium Negara to Kajang) as part of ''Phase 2'' of the system. Kuala Lumpur Middle Ring Road 2
Kuala Lumpur Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2 or Kuala Lumpur Middle Ring Road 2 Scheme), Federal Route 28, is a ring road built by the Malaysian Public Works Department (JKR) to connect neighborhoods near the boundary of Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. Altogether, the of the entire system consists of Federal Route 28, Damansara–Puchong Expressway (from Sri Damansara Interchange to Sunway Interchange) and Shah Alam Expressway (from Sunway Interchange to Sri Petaling Interchange). However, the Kuala Lumpur Middle Ring Road 2 is generally referred to as Route 28 since Route 28 occupies about two-thirds of the system. East–West Link Expressway
The East–West Link Expressway, or Salak Expressway (Malay: ''Lebuhraya Hubungan Timur-Barat''), is an extension of Malaysia's Federal Highway from Seputeh to Taman Connaught in Cheras. It should not be confused with the East–West Highway route 4 that runs from Gerik in Perak to Jeli in Kelantan. This expressway is part of the Kuala Lumpur Southeast Dispersal Link Scheme. Some maps label the section of the expressway from Seputeh Interchange to Salak South Expressway as a part of the Federal Highway Route 2, but the appellation is incorrect as the East–West Link Expressway was acquired by ANIH Berhad (formerly known as Metramac Corporation Sdn Bhd (MetaCorp)) and not by the PLUS Malaysia Berhad which maintains most parts of the Federal Highway. Cheras Highway
Cheras Highway, Federal Route 1 also known as Cheras Road and Loke Yew Road is a major highway in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. History This highway was upgraded in 1988 by Metramac Corporation Sdn.Bhd. The Cheras Road toll plaza began operation from 1 September 1990. After being suspended a year later before reopening on 15 September 1991, toll charges reduced by 50 percent from the usual RM1. After many complaints and traffic jams, the toll plaza was abolished on 14 September 2003 and replaced by Taman Midah MRT station on 17 July 2017. Today, the highway is maintained by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL). Due to the congestion that clogged the Cheras Highway, two projects were led by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).
