Tallinn French Lyceum
Tallinn French School or Tallinn French Lyceum ( et, Tallinna Prantsuse Lütseum), is a co-educational comprehensive secondary school in Tallinn, Estonia. It offers primary (years 1-9) and secondary education (years 10-12). Students perform consistently well in national exams, often placing the school in the national top 5. Present day Students learn three foreign languages from an early age: French from year one, Russian from year three and English from year four. Former principal Lauri Leesi believes the school is neither an arts nor a science school, it's a school where all knowledge is equally important. The school has a policy regarding academic attendance: extracurricular activities are encouraged, but only outside class times. Tallinn () is the most populous and capital city of Estonia. Elina Nechayeva
Elina Nechayeva ( et, Elina Netšajeva; born 10 November 1991) is an Estonian soprano. She represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal, with the song " La forza". Career In 2009, she made her public debut in the third season of ''Eesti otsib superstaari'', where she participated, but was eliminated in the preliminary girls' round. She graduated from Tallinn French School in 2011. She participated in the ETV competition ''Klassikatähed 2014'' and was one of the three finalists. In 2016, she graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with a master's degree in classical singing. Maria Juur (born 15 March 1988), better known by her stage name Maria Minerva, is an Estonian musician and activist. Maria Minerva is the recipient of two Estonian Music Awards. Her releases have received critical acclaim from music publications such as Pitchfork Media and The Fader. One of Maria Minerva's early supporters was the influential pop critic Simon Reynolds. Tanel Toom
Tanel Toom (born 1 November 1982) is an Estonian director and screenwriter. Toom studied filmmaking at Tallinn University, graduating with a BA in 2005. After that, he worked as a director for commercials and as a first assistant director. In 2008, he completed his fourth short film, The Second Coming, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival. Georg Ots
Georg Ots (21 March 1920 – 5 September 1975) was an Estonian singer, actor and People's Artist of the USSR (1960). Biography Before studying singing with the Estonian baritone Aleksander Rahnel in Yaroslavl in the rear of the Eastern Front, where a cultural center for evacuated Estonians had been established, Ots was a young Navy Officer who had escaped a sinking ship and was taken prisoner in Russia. He was released a year later, and on his return home, he auditioned for a place at the conservatory in Tallinn. At the same time, he became a member of the chorus at the Estonia Theatre in Tallinn.
