Takhtasinh Parmar Prize
The Takhtasinh Parmar Prize, also known as Shri Takhtasinh Parmar Paritoshik ( gu, શ્રી તખ્તસિંહ પરમાર પારિતોષિક), is a literary award presented by Gujarati Sahitya Parishad. Gujarat
Gujarat (, ) is a state along the western coast of India. Its coastline of about is the longest in the country, most of which lies on the Kathiawar peninsula. Gujarati Sahitya Parishad
Gujarati Sahitya Parishad () is a literary organisation for the promotion of Gujarati literature located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It was founded by Ranjitram Mehta with the aim of creating literature appealing to all classes of society and cultivating a literary sense among the people. Many prominent people including Mahatma Gandhi and Kanaiyalal Munshi have presided over the organisation. Its headquarters, located on Ashram Road, is known as Govardhan Bhavan. It has a conference hall and library. ''Parab'' is the monthly magazine of the Gujarati Sahitya Parishad and is published on the 10th of every month. Saroop Dhruv (born 19 June 1948) is an educator, poet and activist from Gujarat, India. Life She was born in Ahmedabad on 19 June 1948. She completed B. A. in Gujarati and Sanskrit from St. Xavier's College, Ahmedabad in 1969 and M. A. from School of Languages, Gujarat University in 1971. She received Ph. D. from Gujarat Vidyapith in 1976 for her dissertation, ''Motif no Abhyas Ane Ketlik Pasand Kareli Gujarati Lokkathama Teni Tapas'' (Study of Motifs and its Research in Selected Gujarati Folktales). She was a Gujarati language teacher at St. Xavier's Education Center from 1974. Dhruv was a founding member of the cultural group Samvedan Sanskritic Manch and of the media group Darshan; both groups have social change as an objective. Himanshi Indulal Shelat (Gujarati: હિમાંશી ઇન્દુલાલ શેલત; born 8 January 1947) is a Gujarati author from Gujarat, India. She received Sahitya Akademi Award for Gujarati in 1996 for her short stories collection ''Andhari Galima Safed Tapakan'' (1992). Life She was born on 8 January 1947 in Surat, Gujarat. She completed Bachelor of Arts in 1966 and Master of Arts in 1968. She obtained her Ph.D. on "V.S. Naipaul's novel" in 1981–82. She taught English literature at M.T.B. Harish Krishnaram Dave (Gujarati: હરીશ કૃષ્ણારામ દવે), better known by his pen name Harish Meenashru (Gujarati: હરીશ મીનાશ્રુ), is a Gujarati language poet and translator from Gujarat, India. He is best known as a postmodern poet in Gujarati literature.
