Japan Golf Tour
The Japan Golf Tour ( ja, 日本ゴルフツアー機構) is a prominent golf tour. It was founded in 1973 and as of 2006 it offers the third-highest annual prize fund out of the regular (that is not for seniors) men's professional tours after the PGA Tour and the European Tour. However, since the early 1990s, the growth in prize money has not kept pace with that on the two larger tours. Official events on the Japan Golf Tour count for World Golf Ranking points, and success on the tour can also qualify members to play in the majors. Most of the leading players on the tour are Japanese, but players from many other countries also participate. The tour is currently run by the Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO), which was established in 1999 to separate the tour from the PGA of Japan. A professional golfer is somebody who receives payments or financial rewards in the sport of golf that are directly related to their skill or reputation. A person who earns money by teaching or playing golf is traditionally considered a "golf pro," most of whom are teachers/coaches. Tomohiro Kondo ( ja, 近藤智弘, born 17 June 1977) is a Japanese professional golfer. Kondo was born in Tōkai, Aichi, Japan. He won the gold medal at the 1998 Asian Games. Tsuneyuki "Tommy" Nakajima ( ja, 中嶋常幸; born 20 October 1954) is a Japanese professional golfer. Nakajima was born in Gunma. He turned professional in 1975. He has won 48 events on the Japan Golf Tour, ranking third on the most Japan Golf Tour wins list. He also was the leading money winner four times in five years: 1982, 1983, 1985 and 1986. The Open Championship, often referred to as The Open or the British Open, is the oldest golf tournament in the world, and one of the most prestigious. Founded in 1860, it was originally held annually at Prestwick Golf Club in Scotland. Later the venue rotated between a select group of coastal links golf courses in the United Kingdom. Dynasty Cup (golf)
The Dynasty Cup was a men's professional team golf competition between teams representing Asia and Japan. It was played twice, in 2003 and 2005 and took place on the World Cup course at the Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen, China. The event was organised by the Asian Tour and Japan Golf Tour. Asia won both events that were contested. For sponsorship reasons the 2003 event was called the Phoenix Dynasty Cup presented by VISA while the 2005 event was called the Visa Dynasty Cup. Format The teams consisted of 12 golfers. The tournament was played over three days with 6 foursomes matches on the first day, 6 four-ball golf, fourball matches on the second day and 12 match play, singles matches on the final day.
