Dynasty Cup (golf)
The Dynasty Cup was a men's professional team golf competition between teams representing Asia and Japan. It was played twice, in 2003 and 2005 and took place on the World Cup course at the Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen, China. The event was organised by the Asian Tour and Japan Golf Tour. Asia won both events that were contested. For sponsorship reasons the 2003 event was called the Phoenix Dynasty Cup presented by VISA while the 2005 event was called the Visa Dynasty Cup. Format The teams consisted of 12 golfers. The tournament was played over three days with 6 foursomes matches on the first day, 6 four-ball golf, fourball matches on the second day and 12 match play, singles matches on the final day. One point was awarded for each win and a half point for a halved match. With a total of 24 points, a team needed to get 12.5 points to win the Cup. Jyoti Randhawa
Jyotinder Singh Randhawa (born 4 May 1972) is an Indian professional golfer. He plays on the Asian Tour where he won eight times between 1998 and 2009. He was ranked in the top 100 of the Official World Golf Ranking several times between 2004 and 2009. Professional career Randhawa turned professional in 1994. He played on the Asian Tour, having played on the European Tour from 2005 to 2010. In 2002, he finished top on the Asian Tour money list. He has finished second on the European Tour three times; the 2002 BMW Asian Open, the 2004 Johnnie Walker Classic and the 2007 Open de España. is a Japanese professional golfer who currently plays on the Japan Golf Tour. He has eight wins on the Tour, and had his best year during the 2000 season. Fukabori was born in Tokyo. Mo Joong-kyung (; born 23 August 1971) is a professional golfer from South Korea who currently plays on the Asian Tour, where he has won twice. Early life Mo was born in Seoul and turned professional in 1995. Professional career After turning professional in 1995, Mo decided to stay and play mainly in South Korea to be close to his family. He has won five events on the Korean Tour, with his best year coming in 2004, which was the first year he earned six figures in season-long earnings. Mo has also had some success on the Asian Tour. He won the 1996 Guam Open by three strokes over three players. In 1997 he finished a distant runner-up to Tiger Woods at the Asian Honda Classic. Mardan Mamat
Mardan Mamat (born 31 October 1967) is a Singaporean professional golfer. Mamat was born in Singapore. He turned professional in 1994. Mamat plays on the Asian Tour, where he won for the first time at the 2004 Royal Challenge Indian Open. In 2006 he won the OSIM Singapore Masters, which was co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and the European Tour. This made him the first player from Singapore to win a European Tour event, and earned him a two-year exemption into the European Tour. Boonchu Ruangkit (born 12 May 1956) is a Thai professional golfer who plays on the Champions Tour. Early life As a young man, Boonchu tried for a career in kick boxing, but he gave it up after being knocked out cold in his third bout. He made his mark in golf when he won the 1985 Australian Amateur. Professional career Boonchu turned professional in 1986. He has won five titles on the Asian Tour since its first modern season in 1995, and has several other victories to his name. Zhang Lianwei
Zhang Lianwei (; born 2 May 1965) is a Chinese professional golfer. Zhang was the first golfer from the People's Republic of China to achieve substantial success on the international professional circuit. In January 2003 he became the first Chinese golfer to win on the European Tour, and the following year was the first to compete in the Masters Tournament, one of the four major championships. Career Zhang was born in Zhuhai in Guangdong Province. The People's Republic of China's first golf course opened in 1984, and Zhang took up the game soon afterwards. Thongchai Jaidee ( th, ธงชัย ใจดี; , born 8 November 1969) is a Thai professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour Champions. He formerly played on the Asian Tour and the European Tour.
