Taiwan Design Center
The Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI; ) is an art organization based in Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, Taipei, Taiwan. History The organization was established in 2003 as the Taiwan Design Center. The Center organizes the annual Taiwan Design Expo and the , a prize established in 1981 by the Industrial Development Bureau. In addition to the Industrial Development Bureau, the Taiwan Design Center also works with the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Economic Affairs. In 2014, the Taiwan Design Center and the American Institute in Taiwan jointly established the American Innovation Center. Since then, the three organizations have jointly organized several events. In 2019, the Taiwan Design Center hosted the art exhibition of the inaugural Taiwan Pattern Design Festival. The Center was renamed the Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI; ) in 2020. Xinyi District, Taipei
Xinyi District or Sinyi District is the seat of the Taipei City Government and Taipei City Council. The district includes Taipei 101, Taipei International Convention Center, Taipei World Trade Center, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall (Taipei), National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and various shopping malls and entertainment venues, making it the most cosmopolitan district of Taipei. Songshan Cultural And Creative Park
The Songshan Cultural and Creative Park (SSCC; ) is a multifunctional park in Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan. History The park was initially constructed in 1937 as a tobacco factory under the name under the Japanese government. After Japan ceded Taiwan in 1945, the Taiwan Provincial Monopoly Bureau took over the factory and renamed it as the Songshan Tobacco Plant of the Taiwan Provincial Monopoly Bureau. In 1947, the plant was renamed again as Songshan Tobacco Plant of the Taiwan Tobacco and Wine Bureau. The factory ceased to produce cigarettes in 1998 for concern over urban planning, tobacco and liquor marketing regulatory changes and the decline in tobacco demand. The Ministry of Culture (MOC, ) is the ministry of the Republic of China (Taiwan) that promotes cultural and creative industries. The ministry also maintains thNational Repository of Cultural Heritage History Established in 1981 by Executive Yuan, the ministry was initially called the Council for Cultural Affairs (CCA). The council was upgraded to ministerial level in May 2012 under the name Ministry of Culture. The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT; ) is the ''de facto'' Embassy of the United States of America in Taiwan. The AIT institution is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the federal government of the United States in Taiwan with Congressional oversight.
