Tainan City legislative districts () consist of 6 single-member constituencies, each represented by a member of the Legislative Yuan. From the 2020 election onwards, the number of Tainan's seats was increased from 5 to 6. Legislative Yuan
The Legislative Yuan is the unicameral legislature of the Republic of China (Taiwan) located in Taipei. The Legislative Yuan is composed of 113 members, who are directly elected for 4-year terms by people of the Taiwan Area through a parallel voting system. Originally located in Nanking, the Legislative Yuan, along with the National Assembly (electoral college) and the Control Yuan (upper house), formed the tricameral parliament under the original 1947 Constitution. The Legislative Yuan previously had 759 members representing each constituencies of all provinces, municipalities, Tibet, Outer Mongolia and various professions. Until democratization, the Republic of China was an authoritarian state under Dang Guo, the Legislative Yuan had alternatively been characterized as a rubber stamp for the then-ruling regime of the Kuomintang. Madou District
Madou District () is a district of about 43,071 residents in Tainan, Taiwan. It owes its name to the Siraya language word ''Moatau'' or ''Mattou''. ''Mattau'' was one of the four core Sirayan villages during much of Taiwan's colonial history and figured heavily in the formation of colonial policy in Dutch Formosa. Currently, it is a well-known town in Tainan for its local culinary specialties and historical sites, and has become more prosperous in recent five years due to the presence of two universities. Sinshih, Tainan
Sinshih District, United States National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (), alternatively spelled Xinshi, is a rural district in central Tainan, Taiwan, about 11 km north of Fort Provintia. As ''Sincan'', it was one of the most important stations of the Dutch East India Company (VOC) in the 17th century. Missionary work formally began and the largest amount of inland trade occurred at Sinkan. Name The village name of Sincan has also been recorded as Sinckan, Cinckan, Xincan, and Zinckan. The place shares the same namesake as the Sinckan language and Sinckan Manuscripts. After the Kingdom of Tungning, the name was Sinicized into ''Sin-kang'' (). Annan District () is a coastal district located in the west of Tainan, Taiwan. History After the handover of Taiwan from Japan to the Republic of China in 1945, Anshun was organized as a rural township of Tainan County. Nanhua District () is a rural district of about 8,209 residents in Tainan, Taiwan. It has two reservoirs, the larger one being the Nanhua Reservoir. It is the largest district in the city. Anding District () is a rural district of about 29,983 residents in Tainan, Taiwan, with a area of 31.27 square kilometers, or 12.0734 square miles. It is the 17th most populous district in Tainan, with a population density of 959 people per square kilometer, or 2,483 people per square mile. History During the Dutch colonial era the area was known as Bakloan or Baccloan, with a rarer spelling of Baccaluang. Yujing, Tainan
Yujing District () is a rural district in eastern Tainan, Taiwan. It is famous for its cultivation of mangoes. After a 6.4-magnitude earthquake hit southern Taiwan in March 2010, pillars were severely damaged at Yujing Junior High School forcing school officials to cancel some classes.
