''Ta-Dah'' is the second studio album by American alternative band Scissor Sisters, released on September 15, 2006. It was produced by the band and includes collaborations with Elton John, Carlos Alomar, and Paul Williams. The album debuted at number 19 on the US ''Billboard'' 200 chart, selling 42,000 copies in its first week. Upon its release, ''Ta-Dah'' received positive reviews from most music critics. Scissor Sisters
Scissor Sisters were an American pop rock band formed in 2001. Its members include Jake Shears and Ana Matronic as vocalists, Babydaddy as multi-instrumentalist, Del Marquis as lead guitar/bassist, and Randy Real (who replaced Paddy Boom) as drummer. Scissor Sisters incorporates diverse and eclectic styles in their music, but tends to sway towards pop rock, glam rock, nu-disco, and electroclash. "Kiss You Off" is the fourth and final radio-released single from the Scissor Sisters' second studio album, ''Ta-Dah''. Plans for a fifth radio-released single from ''Ta-Dah'' had been cancelled due to poor charting positions on prior single releases. The single was followed by the limited edition "fan-only" release of "Lights". The single was released in the UK on 28 May 2007. It entered the UK Singles Chart at #43. "Land of a Thousand Words" is the second single from the American band, the Scissor Sisters' second album, ''Ta-Dah''. It is the fifth track of ''Ta-Dah'', and it was released on 4 December 2006 in the UK and Ireland. The single was released and charted in various European countries including Germany, Austria, Italy, Poland, Norway and the Czech Republic. Unlike the first release off the album "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'", "Land of a Thousand Words" is a slow ballad track. Carlos Alomar
Carlos Alomar (born 7 May 1951) is a Puerto Ricans, Puerto Rican guitarist. He is best known for his work with David Bowie from the mid-1970s to the early 2000s, having played on more Bowie albums than any musician other than pianist Mike Garson. He has also performed with Duran Duran side project Arcadia (band), Arcadia, on the album ''So Red the Rose''. History The son of a Pentecostal minister, Alomar was raised in New York. From the age of ten he taught himself to play the guitar, and started playing professionally at age sixteen. In the 1960s he performed during "Amateur Hour" at the Apollo Theater, eventually joining the house band, backing Chuck Berry and many leading soul music, soul artists. Paul Hamilton Williams Jr. (born September 19, 1940) is an American composer, singer, songwriter and actor. He is known for writing and co-writing popular songs performed by a number of acts in the 1970s, including Three Dog Night's "An Old Fashioned Love Song" and "Out in the Country", Helen Reddy's "You and Me Against the World", Biff Rose's "Fill Your Heart" and the Carpenters' "We've Only Just Begun" and "Rainy Days and Mondays".
