Trieste ( , ; sl, Trst ; german: Triest ) is a city and seaport in northeastern Italy. It is the capital city, and largest city, of the autonomous region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, one of two autonomous regions which are not subdivided into provinces. Trieste is located at the head of the Gulf of Trieste, on a narrow strip of Italian territory lying between the Adriatic Sea and Slovenia; Slovenia lies approximately east and southeast of the city, while Croatia is about to the south of the city. The city has a long coastline and is surrounded by grassland, forest, and karstic areas. The city has a subtropical climate, unusual in relation to its relatively high latitude, due to marine breezes. In 2022, it had a population of about 204,302. ''TRST'' is the debut studio album by Canadian electronic music project TR/ST. Self-produced by the band, it was released on February 28, 2012 by Arts & Crafts Productions. The record features "gloomy synth-pop" and "fully-fleshed dark wave" sounds that have been described as "a combination of gothic rock and trance pop." Critical reception Upon its release, ''TRST'' received generally positive reviews from music critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from critics, the album received an average score of 71, which indicates "generally favorable reviews", based on 13 reviews. The critics described the music on the album as synth-pop, dark wave, EBM and industrial dance. TR/ST (previously known as Trust) is a Canadian electronic music project of Robert Alfons. It was formed as a band in 2010 when Alfons met Maya Postepski of Austra. The project has spawned four albums so far: '' TRST'' (2012), '' Joyland'' (2014), ''The Destroyer (Part 1)'' and '' The Destroyer (Part 2)'' (2019). Alfons has also produced remixes for Feist, Moby, Zhala and Jonna Lee.
