Weihai
Weihai (), formerly called Weihaiwei (), is a prefecture-level city and major seaport in easternmost Shandong province. It borders Yantai to the west and the Yellow Sea to the east, and is the closest Chinese city to South Korea. Weihai's population was 2,804,771 as of the 2020 Chinese census, of whom 1,164,730 lived in the current built-up (''or metro'') area of (Huancui District) even though Wendeng district to the south with 563,529 inhabitants is soon being conurbated. Liu Zhenhua (; July 1921 – 11 July 2018) was a general ('' shangjiang'') of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and a diplomat of the People's Republic of China. Tian Fengshan (; born October 1940 in Zhaoyuan County, Heilongjiang) is a former Chinese politician who was convicted of corruption and sentenced to life in prison. Biography Tian became a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1970. His positions include: Heilongjiang governor (February 1995), Minister of Land and Resources (March 2000). Tian was removed from this position in October 2003. Xu Shaoshi (; born October 1951) is a Chinese politician, and former Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China. Xu was born in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. He joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in December 1974.
