Students Union Of Namibia
The Students Union of Namibia (SUN) is a students organisation in Namibia. It was formed in 2019 by a break-away faction of the Namibia National Students Organization (NANSO). In 2019 NANSO members were involved in ideological differences over ways in which Namibian students needed to be represented. They accused the president of NANSO, its secretary general and secretary to the students president as being captured by members of the SWAPO Party Youth League. This preceded a public altercation aired on Namibian Broadcasting Corporation news in April 2019. In it, the president of NANSO was chased out of a meeting by student leaders accusing her of "selling out the struggle to politicians". This infighting at NANSO, until then the only national students' organisation, caused the suspension of some of its leaders and the withdrawal of a number of its members. Windhoek
Windhoek (, , ) is the capital and largest city of Namibia. It is located in central Namibia in the Khomas Highland plateau area, at around above sea level, almost exactly at the country's geographical centre. Inna Hengari
Inna Koviao Hengari (born 2 February 1996) is a Namibian politician, student leader and youth activist. A member of the Popular Democratic Movement, she became a member of the National Assembly on 20 March 2020, the youngest since McHenry Venaani in 2004. Previously she served as Vice President of the UNAM SRC and the Students Union of Namibia. Early life and student activism Hengari was born in 1996 in central Namibia. Raised by a single parent, she attended primary in Okahandja and high school in Otjiwarongo. In 2015, she joined the University of Namibia where she read Political Science. While at the University, she began writing political columns and reviews alongside Joseph Kalimbwe in the Namibian Sun's 'Astute Conversation' initiated by their lecturer Job Amupanda. The Namibia Press Agency (NAMPA) is the national news agency of the Republic of Namibia. It was founded in 1987 under the name Namibia Press Association as a SWAPO partisan press agency, and resuscitated after independence under its current name in 1991. The SWAPO Party Youth League (SPYL), formerly known as the SWAPO Youth League (SYL), is the youth wing of the SWAPO Party, the ruling party of Namibia since 1990.Swapo party constitution It shares the same principles as those of the SWAPO Party. The ''New Era'' is a daily national newspaper owned by the government of Namibia. The newspaper is one of four daily national newspapers in the country, the others being ''The Namibian'' (English and Oshiwambo), ''Die Republikein'' (Afrikaans) and '' Allgemeine Zeitung'' (German). The International University of Management (IUM) is a private, state-recognized university based in Windhoek, Namibia. It has campuses in Swakopmund, Walvis Bay, Ongwediva and Nkurenkuru. History The university was founded by David Namwandi in 1994 with one professor and one student in Windhoek North.
