Stu Sells Oakville Tankard
The Stu Sells Oakville Tankard (also known as the OCT Championships) is an annual bonspiel on the men's and women's Ontario Curling Tour. Except for in 2020, the event has been held at the Oakville Curling Club in Oakville, Ontario. The event was formerly just on the Ontario Curling Tour, but it was promoted as a World Curling Tour event in 2013 when Stu Sells became the sponsor. As of 2019, the purse for the event is $36,000 for both the men's and the women's events. A Tier 2 men's event was added in 2016 (but was discontinued), with a total purse of $16,000. Scott Bailey (curler)
Scott Bailey (born March 12, 1970) is a Canadian curler. He is best known however for being the long-time lead for Wayne Middaugh. It was with Middaugh that Bailey won the 1998 Ford World Curling Championships. Bailey was a member of the Middaugh rink from 1994 to 2010, when Middaugh left the Russ Howard rink. During this period, the Middaugh rink won three provincial championships (1998, 2001 and 2005), in addition to winning the 1998 Labatt Brier and 1998 World Championships. Bailey played for the John Epping rink from 2010 to 2014. Steve Bice
Stephen "Steve" Bice (born October 5, 1981 in Sarnia, Ontario) is a Canadian curler from Milton, Ontario. He is currently the alternate for his brother Mark's rink. Career Bice was a former alternate on Glenn Howard's team. The 2007 Ontario Men's Curling Championship took place in Bice's hometown of Sarnia. Bice was on the spare list, and when Howard's second Brent Laing had to leave the tournament because his wife was giving birth, Bice was picked up to play on the team. The team won the provincials, and he was kept for the 2007 Tim Hortons Brier, which the team also won. He capped off the season by winning the 2007 Ford World Men's Curling Championship. Bice would remain on as alternate for the 2008, 2009 and 2010 Tim Hortons Briers. He threw just a combined 17 shots in all four Briers. Mark Bice
Mark Bice (born October 10, 1984 in Sarnia, Ontario) is a Canadian curler. He used to skip a team on the World Curling Tour. Career Bice had a fairly successful junior career. Bice is a two time provincial junior champion, winning in 2003 and 2005 and was a provincial schoolboy champion in 2002. In 2003, his rink of Mike Callan, Rob Pruliere and Jeff Wilson finished with a 7-5 record at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships- out of the playoffs. In 2005, they went to the Canadian Juniors again, this time with Codey Maus replacing Callan. The team finished second after the round robin with a 9-3 record. After defeating Ian Fitzner-LeBlanc's Nova Scotia rink in the semi-final, Bice lost in the final match, against Saskatchewan's Kyle George. Jason Young (curler)
Jason "Jay" Young (born September 20, 1979) is a Canadian curler from Wyoming, Ontario. Young is a former World Junior Curling champion. In 1999, Young joined the World Junior champion John Morris rink from the Ottawa Curling Club. He replaced Andy Ormsby in the second position. The team won the 1999 Canadian Junior Curling Championships and 1999 World Junior Curling Championships for the second straight year, but the first title for Young. The following season, Young formed his own team, and won his second Junior championships. At the Canadian Juniors that year, the team finished 9–3, but lost in a tiebreaker to Saskatchewan. Young also won the provincial junior mixed title in 1998, and the provincial schoolboy title in 1998. Kingston is a city in Ontario, Canada. It is located on the north-eastern end of Lake Ontario, at the beginning of the St. Lawrence River and at the mouth of the Cataraqui River (south end of the Rideau Canal). Howard Rajala
Howard John "Howie" Rajala (born February 12, 1962) is a Canadian curler from Kanata, Ontario. He curls out of the Rideau Curling Club. In 2023 his rink won the World Senior Curling Championships for Canada. Born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Rajala was a member of the Rich Moffatt rink that won the provincial championship in 1999. Rajala played third for that team that went 6–5 at the 1999 Labatt Brier. In 1998, he was a member of the team that won The Dominion Regalia Silver Tankard for the Rideau Curling Club. In 2001, Rajala won the Ontario Mixed title with teammates Darcie Simpson, Chris Fulton and Linda Fulton. This qualified his team to represent Ontario at the 2001 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship. Craig Savill
Craig Edward Savill (born October 25, 1978) is a Canadian curler, originally from Manotick, Ontario, Canada. He currently plays third on Team Adam Casey. He also coaches the Czech men's national team. Career Savill's father was stationed at CFB Lahr in Germany, and Savill was born there. However, Savill grew up and still lives in Ottawa. He curls out of the Ottawa Curling Club in club play. Before playing with Howard, Savill won two Canadian Junior Curling Championships and two World Junior Curling Championships (1998, 1999) as John Morris's third. In 2001 he moved to the position of second, still with John Morris. The team went to the 2002 Nokia Brier, and lost in the final to Alberta, skipped by Randy Ferbey. Brent George Laing (born December 10, 1978) is a Canadian curler from Horseshoe Valley, Ontario. He currently plays lead for Mike McEwen. He grew up in Meaford, Ontario. Career Curling out of the Ottawa Curling Club (in Ottawa) and later the Stayner Curling Club (in Stayner, Ontario), Laing played lead for John Morris until Morris left for Alberta in 2003. With Morris, Laing won the 1998 and 1999 Canadian Junior Curling Championships as well as the 1998 and 1999 World Junior Curling Championships. The team played in the 2001 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials, but missed the playoffs after finishing with a 5-4 record.
