''Microsoft Entertainment Pack'' , also known as ''Windows Entertainment Pack'' or simply ''WEP'' , is a collection of 16-bit casual computer games for Windows. There were four Entertainment Packs released between 1990 and 1992. These games were somewhat unusual for the time, in that they would not run under MS-DOS. In 1994, a compilation of the previous four ''Entertainment Packs'' were released called ''The Best of Microsoft Entertainment Pack''. A Game Boy Color version was released in 2000. Microsoft advertised Entertainment Packs for casual gaming on office computers. The boxes had slogans like "No more boring coffee breaks" and "Only a few minutes between meetings? Pyramid is a patience or solitaire game of the Simple Addition family, where the object is to get all the cards from the pyramid to the foundation. The object of the game is to remove pairs of cards that add up to a total of 13, the equivalent of the highest valued card in the deck, from a pyramid arrangement of 28 cards. When using the standard 52-card deck, Jacks are valued at 11, Queens at 12, and Kings at 13. Under the strictest rules, the odds of winning are around 1 in 50. Rules To set up the pyramid, one card is dealt face up at the top of the playing area, then two cards beneath and partially covering it, then three beneath them, and so on completing with a row of seven cards for a total of 28 cards dealt (or six rows of 21 cards). ''Rodent's Revenge'' is a puzzle video game created by Christopher Lee Fraley and distributed as part of '' Microsoft Entertainment Pack 2'' in 1991.About window of Rodent's Revenge, Christoper Lee Fraley, 1991 The player takes on the role of a mouse, with the objective being to trap cats by pushing blocks around, whilst avoiding obstacles. Gameplay To win a level, the mouse must stay alive and trap all the cats using the movable blocks. Doing so changes the cats into cheese, which the mouse can eat for extra points. ''Pipe Mania'' is a puzzle video game developed by The Assembly Line for the Amiga and published in 1989. It was ported to several other platforms by Lucasfilm Games as ''Pipe Dream''; the company distributed the game in the US. The player must connect randomly appearing pieces of pipe on a grid to a given length within a limited time. The Windows version of the game was included in the '' MS Windows Entertainment Pack''. In 1990, it was released as an arcade game by Japanese manufacturer Video System Co. A screensaver (or screen saver) is a computer program that blanks the display screen or fills it with moving images or patterns when the computer has been idle for a designated time. Peg solitaire, Solo Noble or simply Solitaire is a board game for one player involving movement of pegs on a board with holes. Some sets use marbles in a board with indentations. The game is known as solitaire in Britain and as peg solitaire in the US where 'solitaire' is now the common name for patience.
