Sten Priinits
Sten Priinits (born 10 November 1987) is an Estonian fencer. He was born in Haapsalu. In 2017 he graduated from Tallinn University in physical education. He began his fencing career in 1994, coached by his mother Helen Nelis-Naukas and uncle Peeter Nelis. His grandfather was fencer and coach Endel Nelis. He won silver medal at 2015 European Fencing Championships The 2015 European Fencing Championships were held in Montreux, Switzerland from 5 to 11 June 2015 at the Montreux Music & Convention Centre. The STEN (or Sten gun) is a family of British submachine guns chambered in 9×19mm which were used extensively by Commonwealth of Nations, British and Commonwealth forces throughout World War II and the Korean War. They had a simple design and very low production cost, making them effective insurgency weapons for resistance groups, and they continue to see usage to this day by irregular military forces. The Sten served as the basis for the Sterling submachine gun, which replaced the Sten in British service until the 1990s, when it, and all other submachine guns, were replaced by the SA80. The Sten is a select fire, blowback-operated weapon which mounts its magazine on the left. Sten is an acronym, from the names of the weapon's chief designers, Major Reginald V. Shepherd and Harold J. Turpin, and "En" for the Royal Small Arms Factory, Enfield factory. Haapsalu
Haapsalu () is a seaside resort town located on the west coast of Estonia. It is the administrative centre of Lääne County, and on 1 January 2020 it had a population of 9,375. Helen Nelis-Naukas
Helen Nelis-Naukas (until 1984 Nelis, until 2012 Priinits; born 7 August 1961) is an Estonian fencer and coach. She was born in Tallinn. Her father was prominent Estonian fencer Endel Nelis. In 1983 she graduated from Tallinn Pedagogical Institute's Faculty of Physical Education. She started her fencing exercising in 1970, coached by her father, later her coach was Tõnu Nurk. In 1990 he won Estonian Fencing Championships individually. Since 1983 she is working as a fencing coach. Since 2012 she is working at fencing club En Garde. Peeter Nelis
Peeter Nelis (born 26 December 1953) is an Estonian fencer and coach. He was born in Haapsalu. His father was prominent fencer Endel Nelis. In 1977 he graduated from Tartu University's Institute of Physical Education. He started his fencing exercising in 1963, coached by his father. In 1972 he won team epee Estonian championships. 1972–1975 he was a member of Estonian national fencing team. Since 1974 he is working as a fencing coach. Since 1993 he is a coach at fencing club En Garde. In 2018 he was the head coach of Estonia national épée team. Endel Nelis
Endel Nelis (28 September 1925 Karuse Parish, Lääne County – 12 April 1993 Haapsalu) was an Estonian fencer and fencing coach. In 1950 he graduated from Tartu State University in physical education. From 1950 to 1966 he was a member of Estonian national espadron team. In 1955 and 1961 he was the Estonian champion in fencing. After an active fencing career, he taught fencing at Haapsalu sport school. The 2015 Finnish-Estonian-German film ''The Fencer'', directed by Klaus Härö Klaus Härö (born 31 March 1971 in Porvoo, Finland) is a Finnish film director.
