''Spare Parts'' is a 2015 drama film directed by Sean McNamara and produced by David Alpert, Rick Jacobs, Leslie Kolins Small, George Lopez, and Ben Odell. It is based on the ''Wired'' magazine article "La Vida Robot" (Robot Life) by Joshua Davis, about the true story of a group of students from a mainly Latino high school, who won first place over M.I.T. in the 2004 MATE ROV competition. Sean Patrick Michael McNamara (born May 9, 1962) is an American film director, film producer, actor, and screenwriter. McNamara was born in Burbank, California. He is best known for his feature films ''Soul Surfer'' and '' The Miracle Season''. In the pre-teen film market he worked with Jessica Alba, Hilary Duff, Shia LaBeouf, Christy Carlson Romano and Raven-Symoné. McNamara and David Brookwell are the founders of the Brookwell McNamara Entertainment production company. PBASIC
PBASIC is a microcontroller-based version of BASIC created by Parallax, Inc. in 1992. PBASIC was created to bring ease of use to the microcontroller and embedded processor world. It is used for writing code for the BASIC Stamp microcontrollers. After the code is written, it is tokenized and loaded into an EEPROM on the microcontroller. A robot competition is an event where the abilities and characteristics of robots may be tested and assessed. Usually they have to beat other robots in order to become the best one. Many competitions are for schools but several competitions with professional and hobbyist participants are also arising. History Robotic competitions have been organized since the 1970s and 1980s. In 1979 a Micromouse competition was organized by the IEEE as shown in the ''Spectrum'' magazine.
